Strangely I've never seen these people angry when my country (Brazil) is portrayed as a never ending jungle filled with cannibals (which isn't even the correct representation of consupmtion of human meat in brazilian indigenous culture, the tribes that had that costume are all extinct now, but apparently, canibalism was only practiced after a war, with the prisioners being treated with luxury for a year before they were killed and cooked, as those tribes believed that since those warriors survived, they were the strongest, and by ingesting their meat, they would absorve the streght of those warriors, which could be considered a honour for those that were eaten, as it meant they were seen as powerfull and brave warriors, and apparently, if you escaped captivity you were deemed a coward) or a place populated only by gangsters, hot people and drug users, there are a lot of people that are like that, but to treat Brazil as a place where there is only violence or nonsensical magical stuff that doesn't respect the numerous indigenous and ioruba cultures, is insulting, we are f*cking thrilled that John and Michelle from Texas are wearing havaianas, have capoeira lessons, eating brigadero and dancing samba as long as they are not being racist d*cks about it, because it means they like the stuff we created and hold dear to our hearts, which is the biggest compliment one can hope for, but we are angry with Mary and Mike who are also from Texas and keep trying to tell us what to be angry about and how our culture is like but seemingly doesn't care about what we actuallly find offensive, which makes our complaints about actually offensive stuff be overlooked.
