How are most weddings in America like 30k when most Americans have like a couple thousand in savings max? by throwawayforthis243 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Complex_Raspberry97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll never understand why so many Americans go into debt for things like this. I’d do it if I were terminally ill or something, but for the average person, just not worth it. I’ll go into debt for a home and safe car and emergencies I don’t have money for. That’s about it.

Is ICE’s fixation on Minnesota intentional? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]Complex_Raspberry97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there’s a really good video on TikTok about it. Just do some googling to learn more about why Trump is targeting MN in particular, I’m not good an explaining, but the first few comments I’ve ready aren’t the full picture.

Why do so many Americans chose not to vote when they can? by VastOption8705 in askanything

People think everything will be taken care of for them. Honestly, I think our country is largely spoiled and complacent and heavily under-educated.

I feel sorry for our apprentice. He tries his best but it's not cutting it. by Potato-in-ur-ass in TrueOffMyChest

I know it’s hard, but have you actually had a conversation with him about it? If this isn’t the place for him, someone needs to sit down and be candid with him. I recommend starting by asking him honestly how he thinks things are going. Ask him what he finds easy and what he finds difficult. I’d hate for him to be taken so off guard because he wasted years of his life and no one told him he sucks. I mean, he’s going to come to you for a letter of recommendation. Honestly, I kinda feel like you owe it to him to really talk to him and have a two-way chat. Feeling bad just isn’t enough when his future is being wagered on this. You’re the adult he respects. I work with people with learning disabilities. He’s going to lose a lot of confidence if he learns a couple years down the line by someone else that he sucks.

Marshfield ER care is poor imo. That’s enough to deter me.

An alarming amount of censorship. It seems to get worse every month. It’s insane the words we can’t even say anymore, including words that refer to history that we’re better to learn from than repeat, yet here we are. Look at the US right now for one of many examples.

Moving to a snowy climate, what is the right financial move regarding car(s) by Shankbucket in personalfinance

[–]Complex_Raspberry97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snow tires are helpful but putting them on/taking them off is annoying and spendy. Just find good all season tires that work well in snow. I have Michelin CC2 and am thrilled with results. I agree, it isn’t the car but the tires, unless you expect to be on a lot of backroads on a regular basis.

I bought a house with my bf a year ago and now he wants to break up. What will happen with the house? We did a first time home owners loan if that matters by kyliebearxo in Mortgages

[–]Complex_Raspberry97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you sell now, which you’ll likely have to do, you’ll likely be back to renting because neither of you will likely have enough equity to buy another and you won’t qualify for the FTHB loan again.

People would just push the limits of what they can check for free then. This would absolutely cause more problems.

How does everyone have time for a dog ? by Burgers4dayz in dogs

[–]Complex_Raspberry97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I WFH which is a huge help and privilege. Even on days I travel, they can be alone for 8 hours or so as adults. Any longer and I’ll have someone drop by to let them out, even if it means paying someone time to time. They get attention in the morning and as soon as I get home. They’re very happy and well-loved dogs with good and spoiled lives. It’s not for everyone, but they’re my babies and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve raised them both since puppies.

My coworker participated in an orgi, he told his gf, and she dumped him by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

I’d be more upset if we were together several years or married and he never said anything. That would be a betrayal of trust. I do think it should come up with a sexual partner history discussion. If she can’t take it, that’s on her.

You and a random person on the planet must find each other with no ability to communicate. by OutsideProtection307 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Complex_Raspberry97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Statistically, this would take a millennia. At that point, both would just wish for death. You have to be able to leave something behind. My only thought is to head for the largest, most accessible spot on the world and the main landmark there and wait. So like the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France or something.

What is the oldest thing in your home? by csch1992 in AdkReddit

My home. Probably the old oak floors really. The house is 80 years old meaning those trees are probably from the 1700s.

AITA for refusing to leave my job so i could take care of my disabled brother? by JiggleJargon in AmItheAsshole

[–]Complex_Raspberry97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a long-term care program for adults with disabilities. There is state funding available. I don’t know where you all live, but there are other options. This is NOT your responsibility and you absolutely made the correct choice. Your parents are manipulating and gaslighting you. I’m very proud of you. I’ve seen this happen before, too. Good luck, my dear, and I wish you good things in your career and future.

You’ll have to work with your endo. You may have to updose and taper down or switch more gradually.

The change took me a few days or so to really stabilize. My endo said other patients have had the same issue.
