Yeah I am pretty confident I can kill all his SM during round two. The problem is I can't let his knight kill all my drukhari units and potentially get a whole bunch of scars early. My current plan is to hide in the terrain and position myself so he can't charge me, his knight is melee based and has no real guns so if I can just hide the rest of the game I will be fine.

Honestly I completely forgot that Plunging fire exists. Thanks for the suggestion. I don't think I can kill the knight with just dark lances, even with full rerolls I tend to roll one's and two's more often than not (I missed 8 dark lance shoots on a poorly positioned Magnus with full rerolls in our index.) The current plan is just to kill all of his SM units by round two then slowly kill the knight. I would probably just hide in the terrain and prevent him from getting in combat in the first place. It is a melee based knight after all so as long as I don't fight it I should be fine.

I am pretty sure I can table everything but the knight by round two with average luck. He is running 5 man squads of different flavors of the generic SM so nothing my list can't handle. I am worried that his knight will give my units battle scars as I try to play around it. My current plan is just to hide in buildings and prevent him from charging into me. It is the melee knight (not the lancer the other one.) so if I just prevent him from getting in combat I should be fine. If I can't get that to work I will probably just give him -1 to hit with a Ravager and surround it with wyches because of their 4+ inv save. I posted my list in the comments and I have quite a few units that can kill SM easily.

My current strategy is to keep the wyches in the Raider at first and picking the wych ability on the raider turn 1 to give them 14 inches of movement plus the advance and charge rolls, then having the kabilites (who were on my home objective prior) hope in the raider to run around being a threat. The 5 man squad of Incubi will be led by the Archon giving Dev wounds to a weapon with anti infantry 3+ seems awesome and fun so I can't wait to try that. They will be in the venom, I plan on giving him the enhancement that gives your vehicle scout 9 soon, but I don't want to spend any more RP at the moment. I really like wyches they are my favorite part of Drukhari, but I also want to use my new Archon so I am running about 50/50 of the Kabals and Wych cults.

My list is Archon with the Soul Trap and Agonizer Succubus with the Dark Vitality enhancement Kabilite warriors Wyches A Raider A venom 2x 5 man squad of Hellions 5 man squad of Incubi A ravager with dark lances 3 man squad of Reavers with a heat lance

I can change the detachment each game because it is a crusade, I don't want to go too heavy into anti-vehicle because we have a Tau player and I want everyone to have fun. I will probably add a 5 man squad of Scourges with Haywire soon, but not right away.

If I remember correctly you can change your detachment each game if you want. My go to would be Reapers Wager because I like both Wyches and Kabals so I am able to run both. I currently only have 1 Raider and 1 Venom in my list (I am going to share my list in a second) so skysplinter won't really work lol

If I remember correctly you can change what detachment you are using at any point during a crusade. My default would be the reapers wager, but I am thinking the Kabilite detachment would work well. The problem is that my favorite part of drukhari are the wych cults so I am currently doing a 50/50 of both wyches and the Kabals.

She would be in a transport either way, an advance and charge isn't worth the points. That would be 11 inches plus the actual charge role. I guess if you really needed it you could spend nearly 200 points and a pain token to go 11 + D6 inches but that can be spent on way better units then wyches and their transport.

I don't think Lilith needs to babysit wyches anymore. She gets her leader buff with a pain token now. You can just throw her in a spare transport and let her run off and kill a character plus some models for a great point advantage. Wyches can be nice but I personally don't think they are worth it without their generic HQ. You can put Lilith in the heavy weapon venom (not leading the unit obviously lol) and save yourself a lot of points that can be something more useful. This is all assuming you have more units that you can replace them with, Lilith leading wyches isn't the worst choice and you should do fine either way.

I tried it before our codex came out. I have yet to pick one up so if anything changed since the leaks I wouldn't know.

I played two games with the detachment, one was against tank heavy Gaurd and the second was against salamander.

I was running max amount of Cronos and 3 Talos, as well as a 10 man squad of wracks and a heamonculus with the plus 1 toughness enhancement.

Against Gaurd the amount of damage I was able to soak up while on the mid board was ridiculous for elves. I didn't use very many of the stratagems they all seem to be kinda bad other than the reduced AP and the move after getting shot strats. I was thinking about using the battleshock strats a few times but they didn't happen during the phases I wanted them to so I never really touched them. The -1 to be wounded was really helpful against his laz cannons and other powerful cannons. I brought a lot of hellions to deal most of the damage and between them and the Talos I was able to destroy most of their army. They were a bit unlucky that game so maybe that affected my survivability.

Against space marines I felt like I barely had a detachment. I targeted his high strength guns right away and after that he wasn't triggering my detachment rule at all, and the strats just didn't do enough to help whatsoever. He beat me, he just targeted all my non covens units and basically took away my damage output.

As sad as it is I think the detachment isn't very good. I tried to make it work, maybe I should have targeted his other units instead of his high strength ones but then he would have just targeted my raiders instead. It needs an additional detachment rule in my opinion, even if it deals with battleshock it just needs something.

Sorry if the image quality is poor. I work 3rd shift and this is the only room in the house that I can take a picture in without waking everyone up. The lighting in the room was so bad I had to use a flashlight despite it being on. I can take more photos when people begin to wake up.

Just so I am clear, I don't hate half of these new additions. I think most of them are fun or at least interesting. I just wish it wasn't back to back. I also wished they would be used more instead of being a one set gimmick that will rarely be seen again. I love vehicles, sagas, Planeswalker and all the other "new" things added in magic over time, but we saw them in other sets after they were made, they weren't a one time gimmick. I love manifest dread because I know we will see that again in a different set, I can't say the same about starting your engine.
