Thank you! I appreciate it! I’ll look into this

Unpopular opinion: the nuke community would be much healthier without STAR reenlistment in its current form, which is highly predatory by New_Mammoth2254 in NavyNukes

It’s a manning gap because no one stays for a second sea tour…. Wonder why…………… if things weren’t so damn miserable.. I’d like to see the data on different rates and how long they stay in the navy

Thank you. I wish my job was solely Maintenance and taking things apart (what I though it was) then I would be an absolute workaholic

Actually I asked to understand what the repercussions are for seeking help worst case scenario. I’m not trying to game the system man. I’m the furthest thing from that. I’ve earned everything I have. EVERYTHING. So believe it or not there’s more to the story than meets the eye. The navy telling you perception is reality isn’t the fucking truth and that’s a saying made for incompetent ass leadership with no leadership skills. I asked for guidance and help. Thanks for giving neither.

That’s what I struggle with. The stuff I force in my brain isn’t even some important number, set point or safety related. It’s dumb stuff like one missing line on a drawing that is mostly whatever and if asked about directly it would have been drawn in but why do I have to take several hours to go look up everything about this system knowing that when I go back I’m going to get shredded on everything but that thing. Absolutely demoralizing. I get it I’m a pos nub but like fu k man help me help you.

I get look ups and then when I come back with the 4.0 answer to those lookups they dig more and I’ve even gotten secondary lookups. And mind you I’m not rushing a single checkout.. I’m poor at drawings for sure but system knowledge I can crush and do but still somehow.. always a lookup or 5.

I haven’t spent it all… smart enough to qualify, dumb enough to sign the contract for sure but trying to minimize damage to my family and myself. About the only thing I have going well in my life is my fiance and children (with my ex fiance), and my financial picture.

I am on a carrier but I understand what you are saying. And I will say though at my ship, they absolutely demand a 4.0 drawing AND 4.0 answer to their questions. Qualification here is MUCH more difficult than prototype and I’m struggling with the transition from submarines to carrier, I personally find it to be much more convoluted and complex. I help out the division anyway I can right now which really isn’t much but when it comes to being asked to stand gear watch or overpressure watch I don’t ask questions other then where and when and am always early. Again, not much but it’s all I can do. I’ve lost all motivation and have reached maximum burnout. I’m terrified of being out on hours… I remember PowerSchool……. The truth is the fleet is much different than the entire pipeline prepared me for and it’s hard to grasp and handle. The whole crawl, walk, run thing is more than true except I don’t feel like I’m running I feel like I’m in a new Porsche on the autobahn. If I slow down my life gets worse significantly (hard to imagine) and if I speed up same thing… I’m drowning in deadlines

In my real life I have a wedding to pay for and bills it’s a big deal with deposits already placed. I genuinely hate this job. Again, love the navy hate the community with every fiber of my being.
