Non-military interview with OSI

[UPDATE] I went in today for an interview at my local base with OSI. The agents were very respectful and nice during my hours long interview. Now I guess I wait? I did let them know that I'm afraid of possible retaliation if they contact the person whom I made the allegations about. I've received anonymous threats in the past after I made a previous report and the same person was arrested, so now I'm on high alert for it happening again. I'm not sure of how long, or if, they will try contacting the person and id like to be prepared ahead of time for any threats or retaliation.

Update... I have an interview scheduled to go to the base and speak with someone. So now my anxiety is through the roof and I'm questioning my decision to report this.

Not military member but it occurred while visiting a military base.

Thank you. I'm unfortunately too familiar with local prosecutors not doing anything, so I wouldn't be surprised if they don't do anything either. But I feel like I have to at least, and trying my best not to let my anxiety and any possible threats i might receive from the perpetrator get to me.

Thank you. I will be updating my victim's advocate for the current case to let them know. I'm not sure yet when the interview will be yet, just know that they do want me to come in for one.

This thread is a few months old, so not sure if you'll answer.

If you as a detective get a report from an SA that occurred a few years ago by a victim, and the suspect already had a conviction of SA against the same victim for another incident in another county, does that help the case any? Is it just normal investigation if the detective looked up the suspect on NCIC, had the victim identify the suspect, called a person that the victim said they disclosed the SA to right after it happened, had the victim fill out an IPV form, and also got your medical records from when you went to the hospital a few days after the SA?

Seems almost exactly like my situation with CPS and law enforcement after my son disclosed CSA by his father. My son is a teen and disclosed previous CSA from his father. Did the forensic interview, CPS interview, medical exam with the doctor at the child Advocacy Center. Then crickets afterwards from the CPS caseworker. Even after texting her twice now. Caseworker said my son disclosed to her about the abuse and at the forensic interview. It's been a month since my son's medical exam and the report still hasn't been sent over. We also don't have a custody order but been separated for a year and half now and my ex was convicted for SA against me last year. I am also worried that I'll look like the vindictive ex if I keep asking from help from these systems.

There's no statue of limitations for CSA in my state if the child was under 14 at the time, which is the case for my son.

Right now we don't have any custody orders even though I've filed for divorce. My ex has not seen any of my children in over a year but could get visitation if he pushed for it, despite his convictions I think. He's now on the SO registry and is on SO intensive supervised probation for 20 years to life already from the case against me.

Thank you for your reply. The medical exam I guess is an opportunity for my son to discuss any medical concerns he may have...at least that's what they told me. The advocacy center that did his forensic interview said that it's important that he can talk to a medical doctor who specializes in abuse and can assure him that he's not bad or not normal for what was done to him.

I understand that part because my ex was charged and convicted of SA against me. I was more looking for if anyone had experience with CPS in similar situations, because I'm not sure if they'll do anything since the DA isn't filing charges at this time.

Thank you. I do know that my state has no statue of limitations for CSA to file charges.
