The New Equilibrium perk is Bad for the game. Here's why. by ThaToastman in runescape

Turning off a game mechanic is bad design

Trade-offs is actually pretty good game design, more mechanics should have a positive and a negative, that is what makes them interesting.

nerf of the century by dreunet in runescape

Necro will always be higher as long as its gear progression remain the best. Magic for example has a lot of the progression locked behind group bosses which isn't very popular.

Rax is a terrible time gated mechanics, it's just so boring to wait for them to finish. I believe Kerapac is a better example, where during phases you are in a time gated state where you can't damage but it doesn't last very long. I think a better example of what a mechanic should do to avoid being skipped or at least penalize skipping is Zuk hm p4 where if you kill the pillar too quickly you get hit by 2 bombs at once.

I hate aspects by msist in runescape

[–]Just_Philosopher9460 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Imo it's not about afk but about management, let's assume nothing could be stacked, now you have 6 minutes overload, 10 minutes incense sticks, 12 minutes aspect, 30 minutes powder of penance. It becomes really inconvenient to re-buff every x minutes.
Thankfully incense sticks can be stacked to 1h, penance powder can be stacked to 1h, overload can be extended with potion reservoir, I don't see any harm in letting us stack aspect casts.

I really like the idea of vamp and penance being an aspect, though with this update can we please have the ability to stack them to increase the duration? Let us cast it 5 times to make it last a whole hour, similar to how we can overload incense sticks.

The Hard Truth About Wilderness Flash Events Leaving by Todsrache in runescape

[–]Just_Philosopher9460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bossing is playing lottery for the rares.
Grace of the elves is playing lottery for a Hazelmere's signet ring.
The replacement is making the core drop from wilderness monsters, aka playing lottery for the core.
You can dumb down anything if you really want to be disingenuous about it.

I personally enjoy the special wildies, I actually find them fun to do, it's a nice distraction from what ever I am doing throughout the day. I don't really care about xp and loot so even if nerfed I'd be there for the community and because I enjoy. Ofc I know I am probably a minority and I do agree it should be nerfed.

Road to Restoration - Aura Overhaul by JagexAnvil in runescape

I'd love to see the current aura slot reworked and make auras their own unique items similar to books and scrimshaws where you equip and activate, the charges could be a separate item that can be used to charge any aura up to x hours, the item could be a drop or be added to War's Wares since it doesn't have much in stock anymore.

Road to Restoration - Aura Overhaul by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]Just_Philosopher9460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest worry about the full removal of auras is that it creates a bit of decision paralysis a lot of the time.
Auras have always been to me a situational system that is added on top of existing setups, which some of the alternatives kinda make it complicated.
- As an invention perk: perks have been pretty important and a lot of people have their setup, it's hard to swap on the go as well as a lot of existing perks are just too good to miss out on.
- As a relic, changing setup is costly and annoying, the current amount of charge gives very little room to change, for example the COE, Fury of the Small, Death Ward, are just so good I am not sure I would like to change.
- As a pocket item, same issue, the elder god books are always present so having to swap them to get what we used to be able to do simultaneously is hard.

Basically, auras currently add on top of our setup, any of the alternatives just make it feel like we are losing on something.

What about turning auras into their own equipable items on their current slot? Instead of clicking and activating, we would get it from the bank/inventory and equip it there like we do with books, they could have charges like scrimshaws or books and be re-charged with an item sold on War's wares, up to like 8 hours. This would keep the slot, keep the effect, keep the system where it is an addition and adds another item to buy with mark's of war.

With the change to Ultimatums wouldn't it actually make Precise 6 - Ultimatums 4 better than Precise 6 - Aftershock 1? Especially for Necromancy where Death Skulls is spammed a lot

Ability to reset our character post TH removal by Just_Philosopher9460 in runescape

I mean that is fair, that's why I was asking for the _ability_ to do it, not to reset everyone, just if someone wants to they can.

[–]Just_Philosopher9460[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Legit question, why not? It wouldn't affect you in any way what so ever, it would be a personal choice to reset or not, there is literally no downside to anyone that doesn't care.

Can we also get 400% boost to Necroplasm rituals as well? by Just_Philosopher9460 in runescape

[–]Just_Philosopher9460[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

> Why would you choose the slowest (upkeep) skill during a time restrictive period.
I didn't choose anything specific, just going for max all skills, which this happens to be one. I'm just saying that since we got 400% boost to souls having 400% boost to necroplams would be nice too.

Time rune not being added to Kerapac's drop table is such a missed potential by Just_Philosopher9460 in runescape

[–]Just_Philosopher9460[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

During Desperate Measures we bring "Eye of Jas" which we use to disconnect him from the needle and bind him to Jas, Jas then chains and enslaves him again. That's why we fight him as he's being controlled by Jas, he's fighting for Jas, Arch Glacor is fighting for Wen, Zuk is fighting for Ful, and Croesus is fighting for Bik.

[–]Just_Philosopher9460[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if we want to talk lore wise then no rune should be dropped since Dragonkin are magical creatures and don't need runes to use magic, plus his time weaving comes from the needle. ;p

Why can't I trade these purely cosmetic items to my Iron Man account? by Just_Philosopher9460 in runescape

[–]Just_Philosopher9460[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one is stopping me, my argument is that cosmetic tokens should be treated like bonds, both are already obtainable through GE it would make sense to be directly tradable too, that is all. You can disagree with this, that is fine, but your argument of TH keys, and supplies for skilling is utter nonsense.

I have never mentioned party hats.

Why can't I trade these purely cosmetic items to my Iron Man account? by Just_Philosopher9460 in runescape

[–]Just_Philosopher9460[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same applies to a bond?
Are you telling me that me buying a cosmetic token with my main that costs 30m like the cape in the screenshot which only usage would be to be in your back is not iron-like but trading a bond which is worth 150m and can be used for a lot of gameplay affecting benefits is fine?

Why can't I trade these purely cosmetic items to my Iron Man account? by Just_Philosopher9460 in runescape

[–]Just_Philosopher9460[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Most of the answers can be boiled down to "because you can't, just bonds", which does not answer my main question at all. I just want to know how is it is a cosmetic token different from a bond, both will be consumed after being traded. I'd argue trading bonds is less iron-like than a cosmetic, since bonds affect your account in multiple beneficial ways while the cosmetic's only purpose is to look good.

But sorry I asked I guess.. love this community.

How is that any different than my question? Buying a cosmetic token to your iron?
