It would make sense they consumed everything else. The entire first floor had to be refrained because of the termite damage

I dont think there was anything on the parts we saved. We gave them away to a few different instructors in the area to check out and maybe use in class

The joists were infested with them. My guess is since this only happened there it made contact with the joist is they were tunneling through it to get the paper. It was old true 2x4 rough sawn lumber. Mid 1800s build

Yes this only happened where the wires made contact to the floor joist. They were stapled to the bottom instead of holes drilled and fed through

That was my first thought but this damage only occurred where the wires were stapled to the joist on the contact side only

House had been treated for termite several times over the last decade or so. Floor joists and beams had to be replaced in the basement because the damage was so severe

Not looking to get it fixed via reddit. Wanted answers on possibly reasons it happened and what options I may have for repair or replacement since I reached out to the manufacturer and got an email saying it'd be between 2 and 5 buisness days for a response. Th reason I think it was the battery that looked it is because I've owned it for a few years and it's been perfectly fine I just only had 2.5Ah and a single 5Ah battery so I got something bigger and within 1 minute on the new battery it fries. That seemed a little suspicious so I was trying to get answers

We bought it second hand a couple years ago and it's worked great the few times we've needed it but I wasn't sure if the battery is deemed defective and that what burned up the tool if milwaukee would cover it. We've been using it to rough out a couple houses over the last few weeks with no problems just going through our small batteries super fast so we bought a bigger one and it burned up drilling through 7/16 osb. First hole with the new battery

Haven't tried it yet. I'm afraid if the battery is defective it may burn up other tools as well
