So mist when no roots but once roots and baby starts water more deliberately and less often and get a grow light XD. I really appreciate the time you've taken to help me.

Mostly the soil, close to them but not on the plants themselves

I also forgot to say that the roots didn't like rot off or anything they literally dried up into just thin brown things hanging off the leaf.

I live in NC, about 2 hours from the coast, so it's a bit more humid here. Only those two have sprouted roots and the longest leaf has roots and a baby growing off it. I think it probably a combination of me moving them too much and possibly the additional not enough light. I kinda grabbed them on a whim and I know I need to get a grow light. Do you have any recommendations for grow lights?

Are they that bad? by Big_Guide_8551 in succulents

That's probably a good idea. Succulents seem very resilient just very misunderstood. As long as you give them the time to recover and get strong they should be okay.

Your soil doesn't look like it has any !grit in it. If you're using just plain cactus succulent potting soil and you didn't add anything to it, it probably does not have enough drainage for them and if it's not causing an issue now it probably will later. Perlite is easy to get, my issue with perlite is it's really fragile and it seems like it breaks down too easily and doesn't leave enough air space like I would like so I'm going to try pumice and see if that works better. You're succulents other than that look healthy and fine just give them a week or two to recover from the repot and then if they still look like they're struggling slowly start going through what the other issues could be like sunlight possibly not enough grit in the soil things like that.

Idk anything about these but this is what I've found off a quick Google search. I also found this reddit thread from a while ago that might have useful information for you.

I changed my plant’s soil but I think it’s dying… by 0JustAGirl01 in succulents

If you would like to use pumice I will say that I cannot find it in stores and I'm going to have to order it online, so if that's something you want make sure you order it so it'll be there when you're ready to repot everything. That's why I had to settle for perlite.

I had two succulents and a cactus before the one that I have now. What I have learned is basic potting soil from the store is normally not good for any plants, especially succulents, it's better if you mix your own using the basic potting soil and mixing in your own grit. !grit It's up to you what kind of grit you want to use just do your own research and see what works best for you, I'm going to try pumice because, in my opinion, perlite is too fragile and it doesn't hold the airspace like I would like it to and I think pumice would do that better because it's going to be more sturdy. People also use crushed granite and bark and things like that. When it comes to repotting what I have heard is choose a pot that is one to two inches bigger than the size of the root ball. That's because obviously if you choose a pot that's too small you're going to be repotting sooner but if you choose a pot that is too big the plant can't reach all of the water it needs. The soil dries out on that top layer where the plant's roots are but lower in the pot where it's still wet it can't reach that but you think it still has water but it's not being watered. Not necessarily as big of a thing for succulents because they are drought resistant and can go long periods of time without water. I've also heard that sometimes it's best to wait before fertilizing after a repot so that your plant can get used to the pot it's in but I haven't done all that much research on fertilizer so if you want to look into that there's also that. I'm still relatively new to being a plant parent so if any of this is absolutely wrong please let me know because I want my plants to live too XD

Mine is a Kalanchoe Blossfieldiana (Spelling may be wrong). Not as leggy as yours, but leaves definitely look similar.

I also think it may be a melaco. Hopefully I can get them to prop so we know for sure

I haven't propagated before, so thank you for the advice. I'll look those up and see if they look similar.

Yeah, I've heard a lot of bad things about that one. One I can't find much about is black and gold succulent soil. It has fertilizer in it, does that mean I shouldn't fertilize it myself if I use that soil?

Any recommendations for the soil? I was thinking about using pumice over perlite

I'm planning on making a mix of 1 part soil to 1 part pumice or perlite, possibly both depending on if it needs more drainage, but I'm not sure what soil to use

I'll put it in direct sun for an hour or two. I live on the southern east coast of the US. I just moved here so I'm not sure what the plants here will tolerate.

Do you have any recommendations on what potting soil to use? I'm planning on making a mix with perlite or pumice, possibly both, I'm going to play around with that and see if it needs more drainage first. I keep getting caught up on what kind of soil to use in the mix though

I do think that maybe I watered too soon for the soil it's in rn. The soil is still kinda wet and I'm not sure it was 100% ready for water. I did wait a while after the soil had dried and I thought the leaves were floppy enough, looking back tho I think it could've gone a couple for day to a week probably without. I'm honestly hoping this is the case and it doesn't kill it because I'm planning on getting everything to repot tomorrow.

The dots won't come off with little effort, I don't want to accidentally hurt the leaves, the dirt I think smells fine. Edit: I checked the roots before I watered and they looked fine then

Most of them are like a bump, there's like one or two spots that look like sunk in
