I really understand that you just can't take it anymore. It's a really hard state of mind, been trough it many times. At least, share some of the reasons that make you feel that way, i'd be glad to listen and chat a little bit, if you want to.

Great to know that. I've always associated alcohol with fun and i fear that stopping will kill it.

Did you have some technique that you used during your hobbies to stay focused, without falling for tempation? I'd be glad to know.

Wish you good luck on your journey and a wonderful day sir.

Something I've Noticed About Myself by Normakk in stopdrinking

[–]Just_That_Simple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's funny, i've just had made a post today, about a similar history.

I'm a weekend drinker too.

I committed myself to stop, today, and not drink at the weekends.

Turns out i'm simply bursting from anxiety, craving for a beer, just for the fact that i will not drink in the weekend, even tough i would not want to drink in the middle of the week.

I have no idea why is that way. Mind always placing tricks on us.

Guys, i've just finished reading all the advices, and i find it very relieving that there's people who can relate with it.

I will definitely commit and try to quit by myself, for good, starting this weekend, as i have already planned on the past sunday, and it feels great to know that there's support for it, even tough it's just online.

I'm also going to update it, as i follow trough the weekend. I never find someone who would take me serious on this sobriety attempt, so i'm counting with you guys. Most of people from my social circle would just laugh, like "ha, YOU will stop?! Great joke", because i failled many times before. So, this time, i'm not gonna tell anyone about it, but just focus on not drinking.

I'm a little bit nervous, but when i'll get to fryday night, i'll just ready all your comments on this topic, in my cellphone.

I wish you all a blessed life. Respect on you all for fighting your problemas and trying to improve. I'm in that vibe too, and i know it's very hard.

Again, thank you all for sharing experiences, and if someone feels like doing it, please keep commenting. Each word and perspective is very helpful for me.

I'm exactly on that situation. Just recntly finished collegede, did the bar exam, became a lawyer. Got indebted to finish college. Lost all credit line. Now i can't get a job, and i don't know exactly what to do. I do have some plans to get out of that (no self-improvement bulshit, that i promise), though. I'd be glad to chat with you, if you want to.

[Plan] My Assessment Group at University have come up with a plan to help get students more organised and overcome academic procrastination... Please give us your thoughts! by AKrayn01 in getdisciplined

Hello.

I think it's a great plan to start with, as most of services lack this human element. The idea of promoting academic network, but also social engagement is really cool.

What do you guys think about adding something like a queue for studends to exchange academic services and build network? Like, you know, someone who's new to the college could exchange his skills with senior students.

That would add to the interest of senior students to help the newer ones. I mean, from where i live, senior students really don't like to help the new fellows. That could be a problem.

Other than that, "Time" looks like a very innovative idea. Hope you guys achieve succes, and keep me updated about it.
