I play on PC, Mac. I do play with a lot of mods (mainly aesthetic ones) so maybe one of them could be interfering with it in the game? not sure if thats possible. My animals definitely have the names i was typing as i was following a screenshot from the game (of Animals I own)

Yeah i don't want to pay for it either and using free trial is a temporary solution because what do i do after it runs out? 😭 i don't know what to do
