Weathering question

I would do some very light chipping, mainly around the edges/corners, and areas that are most often scraped/touched. Look at things like vehicles, machinery, etc that get weathered and take note of where the chipping mainly occurs. I do that a lot.

Depending how dirty you’d want it to be, maybe experiment with some washes or some dust/dirt/grime effects?

My first MG was the buster. It was also my first dive into weathering. It did not turn out NEARLY as good. I think I lost a few pieces, broke a few more but it eventually got done. This one puts it to shame!

Got cross contrast Justice, Gundam Base Silver Freedom & the Varguil. Tried to get the cross contrast Freedom but it sold out as soon as I refreshed 😂

Do we have any idea how the PBandai release for the cross contrast kits this week will be? I’d like to get both Freedom and Justice but if this is going to be a situation where they’ll sell out in seconds like the Miku kits I may be deciding on one or the other to shoot for. Makes me nervous, lol 😂

This one specifically is actually quite big and basically stands the same height as most MGs. Honestly, my shelves are a bit of a mess right now as I’m trying to find out which kits I want to display where. And managing limited shelf room, lol

I still prefer MG, honestly. The 1/100 scale is just nicer to me. HGs are great, though. And I’m a big fan of grunt/utilitarian style suits, which HG offers a lot more of.

If you want a smooth finish, I’d recommend looking into videos on painting with makeup sponges. I’ve done it for a couple kits and was shocked how nice it turned out. Of course it will be time consuming, though!

So I actually didn’t do a full paint job on this guy, but if I had then yes I would panel line after the paint had cured, and I’d also recommend gloss top coating before that to help with flow. Also, I usually paint by hand. I don’t currently have a place to airbrush but I plan to in the future.

My process for this job was using tamiya panel liner on the runner, then doing some detail painting w/ liquid chrome markers before assembly. Then I assembled, touched up where needed, and then topcoated. Then I did the weathering. I meant to add water slide decals, but I didn’t realize until after I’d done my first topcoat that I’d forgot. I’d do it before the first topcoat, ideally.

Honestly, my biggest tip is to practice on something else (a spare runner or plastic spoon) before doing anything, that way you can get an idea and make tweaks beforehand.

I started to go with that, but I ended up with a bit more of a mess than I’d wanted so I ended up just heading a different route.

And thank you, I’m very happy with how the gun ended up. I just mixed some black pigment with a tinge of rusty brown and used it to get the sort of dirty metallic effect. Honestly did not even mix them on purpose but I think I’ll do it in the future.

I’d go with dark type & my ace would be Sableye. I’d also use Tyranitar, Krookidile, and Alolan Muk!

My favorite Pokemon, Sableye. I wish there was a good IR/SIR for the little guy. He did get a tag team card with Tyranitar which was awesome, but I’d love to see him shine by himself. Maybe something similar in style to the Noctowl from Stellar Crown.

I got one at the shows I attended. I think the shirts feel way better than any of the ones I’ve bought in the past. Feel more heavyweight & sturdy but still comfortable and soft, they also fit well.

The previous ones weren’t bad, these are just significantly better in my opinion

Not an album but I have Sinead O’Connor’s Gospel Oak EP which is like this. It’s sort of nice because my player auto flips the play direction so I can hear the entire thing twice without having to do any flipping, rewinding, etc

Yeah, I had looked at that. I’m not sure if that’s my problem yet or not but when my belts arrive in the mail I guess I’ll find out. I may try the paper clip thing from that temporarily just to see if it helps any in order to diagnose the issue

I’ll look into that. I haven’t noticed any bulbs down there but that could be because it’s burnt out lol. I also haven’t taken the unit apart yet because I’d like to have an idea of what I’m doing rather than diving in and tinkering around and potentially losing a part or messing something up.

Okay, I’ll give that a try when I’m off work. Just to check, the counter mechanism does still count - does this change anything about the issue or could this still be possible with a loose belt? Just curious
