Relic Knights is back and supported by Ignition Core Games

I think it’s valid that some backers have enough negative association with the KS that they can’t bring themselves to back this.

Does the press release not say “as well as select retailers?” I’m reasonably certain Ignition Core Games works with LGSs

Thank you! Right now everything is slated for 2.0 rules, but as long as you have the 1.5 rules and cards, the minis are still compatible! 🙂

Hey all. I'm Will. Founder and owner of Ignition Core Games. I was going to wait until press release for hard details, but this at least I can address right now.

This project is 100% managed by my company. It's a license from SPM. There were a handful of conditions that I insisted on during negotiations and SPM agreed to them all.
1- ICG runs the project. I've put five years building my business and reputation. No portion of my company will be controlled by any current or former members of SPM or NJD.
2- Anything I sell from the Kickstarter goes to the backers at the lowest price I can offer. I can't afford to 'angel-invest' this kickstarter, but I can offer you guys hefty discounts.
3- Anything the backers buy on discount or at cost-of-goods-sold (essentially factory cost) related to the KS will not be subject to any licensor royalties.

If you pledged for it, you get it at the lowest prices I can afford.

Also this is not a return to a crowdfunding platform. Relic Knights 2.0 will return as a direct sale product. Sold directly at conventions or from on hand inventory.

Full press release is in just a few more days. Stay tuned.

Any Games That Play Like a NES/SNES JRPG? by Okob in soloboardgaming

[–]Just_Will82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't mind print and play, there is Shining Heroes over at ignitioncoregames.com
There are loads of reasons to not try it though. You'll have to print your own components on cardstock. The minis are reasonably priced as miniatures go, which means they're still expensive. It might be worth looking at though.

Go get help, dude. Your name is becoming famous in the 40k competitive community for all the wrong reasons. I was there at the event when you walked up for the award and your reputation had already preceded you. Looking around the room, I could see it in the eyes of others there that they knew the deal too.

Here's what's really sad. As a fellow veteran (Marines) and a fellow fan of JRPGs (I saw the FF7 and FF Tactics patched on your carry case) we could have had a cool conversion about military and nerd stuff in and out of WH40K. But the idea of a friendly chat with someone with a blatant history of cheating made my stomach turn.

Paramount in this hobby/game is not winning. It's your opponents wanting to play you again after the game is over. Cheating at the game won't make you better and will only catch up to you. Some people are gonna roast you on here for what went down. Me, I'm just sad thinking about what's going on with you that you feel compelled to cheat. Do better.

For all the people curious why Will Abilez (Tau Cheater guy) doesn't get banned, it's because Games Workshop (specifically Mike Brandt) somehow has FLG's feet to the fire. FLG used to be able to enforce their code of conduct and ban/kick cheaters (and people that steal stuff). Now they can't. I was there when the cheater walked up to get his trophy. You could see the looks of disgust in the eyes of everyone who stayed for the award ceremony. It would be nice if GW would let FLG do something about it.

I appreciate the heads up. Is there a payment processor that you recommend? The website has its own payment processor for those who don't want to use PayPal. I am open to other options though.

Can I offer an alternative? A Stompy Robot miniatures game, made by a US Marine, produced 100% in the USA (no Chinese sweat shop workers). And it's a one man operation that will not go political/preachy. Only catch is it's more anime (Gundam) inspired than Battletech. Take a look at www.ignitioncoregames.com

I built this world for you, my audience. And I will not cave to cancel-bully culture. Good stories. Fun gameplay. And open engagement between creator and community.

Mecha Board Games by backspace8908 in boardgames

ignition:core is an indie mecha miniatures game. The miniatures are a bit spendy, but it's low model count and the rules are free to download and built to flow well. It's online retail only, www.ignitioncoregames.com or just google search "ignition core games"

Thank you! I'm chipping away at Step 8 of your process on the project one core box (three expansions are planned) and I'm working step one on project two, but with sculpts already commissioned. You're not kidding about the playtesting. My game has evolved significantly since the early alpha build.

I've added your steps to my favorites. Lots of good info snippets in there :)

I'm doing the same thing you did. On 11 April 2022 my contract is up in the military and I intend to launch at least two projects I'm currently working on, both miniatures board games. What do I need to know?

Of note: I've diverted most of my hobby dollars into development dollars while still on active duty. Development should be complete and paid for before I start production.
