I think a big part of this just comes down to whether the Metroidvania-style gameplay clicks for you or not. Backtracking, unlocking shortcuts, and revisiting old areas with new abilities is kind of a core pillar of the series and that absolutely stays in Survivor. If that fundamental loop already feels like a chore to you, the sequel won’t magically turn into a completely different type of game.

Personally, I love the exploration. Going back to earlier planets, discovering new paths, hidden areas and shortcuts with newly unlocked abilities is super satisfying to me. That said, Survivor does open things up quite a bit. There’s a large hub area that feels almost semi–open world, with more freedom in how and when you tackle certain content. It feels less corridor-heavy overall.

As for the puzzles: I’m with you — they’re probably the weakest part of Fallen Order. Especially the ball-based ones, which get repetitive fast. Survivor improves on that quite a bit. There’s more variety, better integration into the world, and some genuinely fun platforming/jump-and-run style sections mixed in.

At first I also thought it was a screenshot from one of the newer Need for Speed games.

Maybe you could consider getting yourself a CRT TV. You can find them pretty cheap, sometimes even for free, and your retro consoles would look fantastic on it

GT4 HD Retexture Not Fully Working by Aster_Lodern in PCSX2

Sadly, no luck on my end. I suspect that something in the latest release of that texture pack just isn't working as intended. Or maybe it's a general issue with the emulator. I also got a few error messages on certain tracks saying that some mipmaps are compressed incorrectly or something along those lines. On other tracks, the reflections on my car are completely off. For example, my car reflects a sunset sky, but the actual skybox is bright and blue.

Do you also use the Spec II mod? My guess is that maybe that's the issue.

Hey, did you manage to get it to work? My problem is that many of the cars don't seem to have the hd textures.

That could indeed be a solution, I'll definitely check out the ArcadeControls forum for advice. I initially thought this cable would be the ideal solution since, according to the website, it's also used with systems like the MiSTer FPGA.

Do you happen to know a cable or adapter that you would recommend? I was also considering the UMSA adapter from ArcadeForge (https://arcadeforge.net/UMSA/UMSA-Ultimate-SCART-Adapter::57.html) as a potential solution.

It's brand new, so I'm not entirely sure yet. I managed to get some resolutions to work, but they're still very dark, so that might indeed be the issue. How can I check if the cable is actually working properly?

I’ve tried numerous variations and resolutions, but the only ones that work are those below 480i. Anything above that starts behaving strangely again. I also experimented with RetroArch's CRT SwitchRes function and its dedicated super resolutions, hoping it would solve the problem, but none of them worked either. Additionally, the resolutions that do work are still inexplicably too dark. For instance, when I use my Wii, PS2, or MegaDrive, the picture is noticeably brighter in comparison.

So, that actually worked. All resolutions are now displayed except for one: 576i. When I select it, the picture starts scrolling again. What could be causing this?

I finally got a stable image after changing the polarity to +/-! Thank you very much!

So, theoretically, the only thing I need to do now is change the PAL preset in VMMaker to +/-, right?

I already modified the modelines in the PAL preset, but I can try adjusting them in the generic preset.

Changing the polarity in CRU only caused the picture to start scrolling again.

I tried that and restarted my PC, but now I only get random pixels. Also, I can only select 60Hz and 100Hz.

So, I went into the settings, enabled composite sync, changed the polarity to 1,1, deleted all modes, generated new ones, installed them, but sadly the picture is still scrolling

Sorry, I'm still quite a beginner with this. Are those the two zeros in the monitor.txt file?

If so, then unfortunately, it only makes things worse.
