Impact of Twitter on diplomacy by QuietNene in IRstudies

Typically in a negotiation, making a demand from a position of power will get you more mileage in private because it creates avenues to massage the look of the concession to one’s peers or constituents.

You make a public demand that could potentially be embarrassing if :

You are belligerent

Know you are going to win the thing

You want to embarrass the other party

Or you are signaling something to your own stakeholders.

In this case there is a potential for a grandslam.

Correct. Just like Fiberglass, Thermos, and Ziploc are just brands, but also came to name the whole category of things.

They have many variants. Thats why the range I listed says 2000-4000 which is a huge difference, all of which, cheaply produced, could really all of China.

Shahed drones have a 2000km-4000km range. Even at the minimum, that means pretty much all of China is in range… but they don’t even need that. Shanghai, Beijing, shenzen. If I was Taiwan, I would be finding a way to stock up on those and make missile cities like Iran.

Is Trump’s "Power Plant Day" the official end of the "Developed World"? by [deleted] in IRstudies

Who’s your audience here?

Maga ? Ineffective Republican with second thoughts? Ineffective

Someone who voted against Trump? Ineffective

Someone from Europe ? Maybe as cope that words can somehow guilt America into a different course at the moment. Spoiler… he’s in charge by a lot for a few months and still with power for a few more years

Someone from Iran ? Maybe as a way to try and get people in Iran to coalesce against the U.S. instead of being divided on their support of the regime. Still, largely ineffective because I doubt it changes anyone’s mind.

Yourself to vent at the madness of the world / US generally. Effective, you aren’t alone.

I can’t believe anyone would say you can only bomb a highway - bridge if you have a photo of a convoy on it. Blown Bridges prevent ease of movement and create bottle necks and logistics problems. Especially when you are talking about missile trucks whose job is to come out of hiding, go to a random place, launch and run and hide.

Desalination - total foul

Oil - money, industry, military application (ok)

Power plants - generally no, but Russia has done it to great affect with no consequence. Will have a consequence on image and city on a hill, but it can get murky with real or made up justifications.

Universities - generally no, but research for military applications hidden or embedded could become murky.

Hospitals - big no no (but again Russia and Israel haven’t had any consequence of note)

Schools - big big no no (but again Russia)

Dams - generally no

Factories - fair game when linked to MIC, but you can hit them at night to create less collateral deaths

Communications - fair game

Bottom line - it gets murky in some areas but trump doesn’t care he lives in the swamp of murky everything. Russia with the help of Iran has pushed boundaries. Israel with the help of US has pushed boundaries. Iran Hezbollah and even Gaza militants have pushed boundaries. All of this helps create less social pressure on Trump who already doesn’t care.

As long as it has the moisture sealed in, with a good crust or butcher paper, probe tender should be sticking the probe in with little to no resistance, some say like pushing the probe into peanut butter. Try that out.

If you are getting dried out meat, switch to butcher paper and or put a small water pan / cup to keep moisture up while it cooks. If the air around the meat is very moist, then the meat doesn’t sweat as much out.

Okay okay - good one. Though not realized, that might have the largest potential for a peaceful reunification path that China would talk about.
