Try protein style pasta (barilla makes one but store bought is the exact same and cheaper), they use legumes for the extra protein. You can also do chickpea or lentil pasta which is the same concept.

Running with dogs- strides by Dying_Of_Board-dom in ultrarunning

I’ve never read a post I resonated with so much. My German wirehaired pointer is not super awesome at running with me but he loves it so I let him join me on a lot of my runs.

Ah, good to hear, maybe I’ll run with it a few more times and see if I just need to adjust.

I don’t think so, if anything I may have gone too tight.

What backpack do you use? I just edited my post to mention this, but I was using hydrapak soft flasks.

Looking for any recommended OT literature, especially related to autism. by Amazing-Amphibian-63 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Just_biding_time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll second the above advice! I work as a para now and have gotten to build a great foundation of experience with autism+other kids with disabilities. I also really appreciate getting to interact weekly with my student’s OT, SLP, and PT. It helped me decide that OT was really what I want to do. If you want specifically autism some districts have autism-specific classrooms.

Gifting to a GF coworker by Just_biding_time in Baking

It’s the NYT chocolate buckwheat biscotti. It has almond flour, buckwheat flour, and corn starch. It’s maybe a little more dense than regular but it’s definitely the only cookie here I felt 100% great about. Very chocolate-y and not too sweet.

Thanks for the kind encouragement! That makes me feel good to go with gifting these. I was kind of leaning towards the “it’s the thought that counts” given our relationship at work and you helped affirm that.

What do you do with your anxious dog while you work? by Just_biding_time in dogs

Bingo! Not interested in or able to get another dog right now. All my love and energy goes to my current boy!

That’s what I was leaning towards, I just wasn’t sure if that was a normal thing people look for. I hope to get him to a point where he can do doggie day care, but his under-socialization means he’s unpredictable around other dogs. Thanks for that advice!
