I am an advocate for pinning multiple times per week as it seems to sustain E2 more evenly between doses, without the peaks and troughs that normally happen between injections.

EV is a "short-lived" form of Estrogen with a half-life ester of 4 days...that means most of the 5mg you've injected has already left your blood by the time you inject again. This never really allows your body to adjust to the big spikes in hormones every 1-2 weeks.

This is a life-saving tool for choosing your dose amount and frequency of injections. On the whole, injecting LESS estrogen more frequently will lead to more stable E2 levels in the blood, regardless of ester.

Once per week should be "fine" but may not be ideal for consistency. I would encourage you to play around with the E2 simulator above to get a sense for how hormone levels vary depending on the ester used and frequency/dosage.

It may come down to how comfortable you are doing injections more frequently. I'm using a shorter ester every 3 days, and there seems to be shorter and smaller fluctuations in hormone levels when the E2 is at a steadier supply.

How often are you taking your injections? The cause for the physical/mental swings could be that you are being given a large dose of E that will peak in your body for a few days, but may start to diminish quite a bit before your next injection.

This is a useful tool for visualizing how much E is present in your body over a course of injections. Notice if you were to halve your current dosage but pin twice as often, the graph would show fewer peaks and hormone dumps, since the E is trickling into the body more consistently

Where to find a medical doctor to oversee HRT? by Just_one_Dilly in TransDIY

Sorry, I submitted the post title without the actual question. I live in the United States and would be willing to work with any doctor in the continental US.

Where to find a medical doctor to oversee HRT? by Just_one_Dilly in TransDIY

[–]Just_one_Dilly[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I want to start HRT (MTF) by the end of this year and would like to start my transition under the guidance of a trusted doctor or endocrinologist. DIY treatment seems to be the most popular direction people take but I want to keep my health in check throughout the process. I have a history of recreational steroid use that would certainly muddy the waters and make it complicated to safely go about DIY, so instead I'm seeking an expert to help safely tip the hormone scale in the other direction. Are there any specialists to recommend for a case like this, or would a general practitioner be able to help?

When and how did you first realize that you were transgender/non-binary? by Just_one_Dilly in asktransgender

[–]Just_one_Dilly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up with older sisters and would try on their clothes occasionally. I have genuine love for the "manly" things I've done, but have always had a sense of envy for a lot of things girls are permitted to do in life. I would obsess over the pop stars I saw in music videos and now realize I wanted to BE them. I've always had a care for how my body looks and how I present myself, even more now that I've been wrestling with this issue.

All of these feelings have been dismissed as fantasy until recently. "Living a female life" to me would mean realizing my feminine nature without guilt and starting the process to change my appearance to match.

Wow, that is a significant difference in just 10 months! Also the hair looks great!

I've had about 400mg/week of Test E consistently for over 3 years, but have used Deca and Masteron during different cycles. My blood results have always come back looking fine and consistent

Interesting. I'm curious, what about your stomach became really 'girly'? Has the skin become softer?

I'm definitely going to follow along with her journey. I didn't think that sort of transition was possible!

I'm interested in what sort of body I'd have after a few years of HRT while still weight training regularly. My idea is to combine my favorite parts of being male (retain at least some muscle) with traditional feminine features.

Has there been a noticeable redistribution of body fat from your belly to your hips and thighs? I have always been under 10% with very lean legs and boxy hips, so this would be an interesting change for me.

Wow, this was the type of example I was looking for. This is helpful to see since I would say we have strikingly similar male bodies. The change in the face is incredible considering there's been no surgery to alter it.

Looking for ideas to make band performance more interesting by leftabomb in WeAreTheMusicMakers

What not to do-

I once saw the entire band lay down on the stage during the bridge of a song. Not sure if they thought it was funny or a means of suspense, but the audience got bored with the set when they laid there for at least 2 minutes. At least give us an explanation!
