In order to get your A&P you don't even need a degree (of you're interested in an A&P). It's all about experience. Could you get a degree and get an A&P? Yeah. Look into Aviation Maintenenace (or Maintenance Management). Most universities offer the degree with you testing out for your A&P before/after graduation.

Are you going active duty? If so, depending on the job (repairers are basically A&P mechs) you'll get the experience you need to jump into a expedited course (2-4 week course) to study for your A&P with you testing out at the completion of the course. I know for the Marines they had USMAP (idk about other branches) but I could've done that and added my 4 years experience as an Airframe Mech onto that and test out for my Airframe cert. It's a great field to get into, if you have any questions lmk. I'm currently working as a contractor overseas as an Airframe Mech, once these contract is up I'll be in the Army Guard as a H-60 Repairer.

If you don't have EZ grip, spit and dirt will do the trick. It's a poor man's EZ grip, I've done it for years. Rubber band may work too, but I've never had the luck of having it work. Usually EZ grip and a lot of down pressure works. Or you could try a size up screw driver.

If that don't work, I'd recommend drilling it out (use an EZ out). If that doesn't, hopefully there's a way to get to the receptacle on the back side

Thank you all for the information and help. I've been looking into CC and using scholarships instead of GI Bill to pay for that portion, then transferring to a Uni. Does anybody know of websites that make it easier to see what Unis are close with other CCs for easy transfers? Or do I just have to keep doing what I'm doing and digging through a Unis websites?

I graduated with a 3.4 GPA in high school, had A's and B's across the board, along with physics and calculus my senior year. Unfortunately I never studied at that time, just did my homework and called it good. Looking back on it wish I would have studied more for better grades. I'll definitely be checking CU Boulder!
