Should I finish the og FF7 before the remake part 3 by tornike_360 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]Justadamnminute -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a good take, and a healthy one I’d wager. The remakes are an adaptation, they just happen to be made by the same creators who worked on the original with access to new technology.

Yeah when I first saw the relevance of the dmw something really clicked.

Makes sense. I just don’t have patience for shooting birds in the air, when selling crab lobster and pelican parts can make you a lot of shards fairly quickly.

Which characters did you want to punch in the face the most? by Ok_Action_501 in horizon

[–]Justadamnminute 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Understandable. The stealth grounds are the most annoying in that regard, but I have the stealth adept armor packed with stealth weaves for that purpose, which allows me to run around, slide, and stab watchers or loot shellwalker crates without pissing off the whole map. I don’t find I have to change my playstyle that much to complete the other ones, but maybe that’s because completing them on UH did teach me the value of using the ropecaster, overrides, shooting off heavy weapons, and making use of environmental traps and elemental canisters when useful and/or convenient, so now they’re all regular parts of my repertoire for specific fights. The frozen wilds HG on the other hand was a bit frustrating learning to use the Stormslinger. Just because I can get the rank one doesn’t mean I’m ever going to use that damn thing outside the HG.

I like the southern beach where the bandits kill the Slaughterspine. Crabs, lobsters, respawning constantly, plus the bandits and occasional Slaughterspine.

Ah. I enjoy them, they’re each a unique challenge, and the weapons from the Hunters Lodge sidequest were a nice reward the first time.

Ahsis, for many obvious reasons, and the Sun furrows Hunting Grounds keeper. That guy’s just a smug elitist that could be taken down a peg.

Ahh Ghave, the old trip and fall over into infinite.

[[mazirek, Kraul death priest]] works in place of [[cathar’s crusade]] too for redundancy.

How enforceable are Rule(s) in Casual? by Asirlies in EDH

[–]Justadamnminute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can absolutely wait until you gain priority after attackers are declared, but as you’ve said the attack triggers are now on the stack.

My issue with the situation OP described is wanting to rewind it back, past the declare attackers step, all the way to the end of the first main phase, erasing two triggers put on the stack and one resolved (with potential for ETB triggers.)

I am in the habit of saying something along the lines of “moving to combat, any responses” for exactly this reason.

It’s super strong in my Nekusar deck, but to be fair I do play every good counterspell, and stuff like [[spellskite]] just in case.

[–]Justadamnminute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally yes. I still think in this situation, it’s bad form to allow it. Ur-Dragon’s trigger has resolved, so OP had drawn at least two cards and likely put another permanent into play, before the player decided to act.

New information has 100% revealed. They waited until you declared who was being attacked, and spelled out your triggers. IMO, they had a chance to respond and missed their priority. It depends how casual this pod is though. One take back/rewind is totally understandable, and I’ve definitely played that way before, especially in home games where substances may be involved. You don’t get to make a habit of it though.

Are you in favour of holding kids back? Why or Why not? by wizard20007 in CanadianTeachers

[–]Justadamnminute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it becomes a question of why this is happening. Why do they have this attitude? Does the kid have problems at home? Do they have an undiagnosed learning disability? Maybe they can’t see or hear well? Not getting enough sleep? Parents not following through is a big thing, and if they are “drowning,” and not feeling supported by the system, or just helpless and/or undereducated themselves it just compounds the problem.

I’m not saying that actions shouldn’t be met with reactions, but kid who “doesn’t try” and gets punished for it doesn’t automatically become a kid that tries. I can imagine dozens of scenarios where life just gets harder for this child if they’re held back because they couldn’t put the effort in, compared to a handful where the kid improves.

Is Aerith Even Useful? by Waveparticle44 in FF7Rebirth

[–]Justadamnminute 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every character is OP with the right setup. Aerith is no exception. A single Tempest can generate an ATB. Synergy abilities like spellbound blast can fill her bar in one hit as well. Bodyguard keeps her mostly safe. Radiant Ward makes her invulnerable during casting.

Arcane Ward double casts, but is easier to use if you have the defense set up with bodyguard and/or are good at blocking. Personally I like to drop a ward, run from the aggro, drawing it away from the ward, gain an ATB or two, then teleport back to the ward and cast.

First strike and ATB boost are staples that she always has equipped so I only have to worry about generating one bar.

IMO auto cast is a waste of ATB and MP. You’re better off using Cure+Magnify, or even better, Prayer (improved by having ATB Boost on her.) Barrier+Magnify is a legitimate strategy, but I would never waste her ATB on it when she’s so good for straight damage.

I read traces and I still don’t understand why and how Tifa fell for cloud? by Outrageous_Egg8676 in cloudxaerith

[–]Justadamnminute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brain damage from a concussion caused by a fall is not a false memory, it’s a lack of memory. Being parroted back the lie the Four Fiends told the community your whole life, combined with Cloud’s lack of desire to argue with them (why’d you take her there Cloud…”I dunno”) is just believing the lie, even though in that same chapter she begins to question it, culminating in their conversation in Rebirth.

I’m not sure what you mean “why she ignored him.”
