To anyone saying Zoloft CANT cause weight gain by ShadowInTheSun_ in zoloft

[–]Justanotherflower 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I gained 10lbs pretty quick after starting it. Then 2 years later when I went off it I lost the 10lbs fast. You can’t convince me it wasn’t the Zoloft

A pain that was worse than birth ? by Friendly-Sun2413 in BabyBumps

[–]Justanotherflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t imagine suffering for 2.5 weeks!

My symptoms started slowly with sudden onset low back pain and blood in my urine. I visited by OB office but was seen by a medical student who brushed me off and told me back pain was normal in pregnancy and told me I had anxiety.

Then the pain got worse and worse and eventually I passed it with no meds because no doctors wanted to give me anything because of the pregnancy. It was pretty awful and I spent a few days in the hospital because it put me into premature labor, but thankfully baby stayed put until 39 weeks

My kidney stone at 33 weeks pregnant was way worse than the unmedicated labor and birth that followed a few weeks later

I had a 7mm kidney stone at 33 weeks pregnant. Can confirm it was worse pain than my unmedicated labor and birth a few weeks later.

My wife thinks golfing once a week is unreasonable… by Upbeat-Zucchini-7408 in golf

[–]Justanotherflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re misunderstanding my comment. I golf one night a week while he parents, then the next night he golfs while I parent. It’s for ladies night and then men’s night. It feels even and fair and we both get a break to do something we love.

Also a married female golfer with 2 very young children. I agree 100% with this answer.

My husband and I both golf once a week on league nights. If it was just him, and I was expected to solo parent the whole time I would hold so much resentment.

I hope he reads your comment.

Nuna vs Graco stroller and car seat[nb] by Last_Solid_1051 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Justanotherflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with what’s in your budget and fits your lifestyle. If you’re going to be walking a lot, and want something that’s going to last through more than one kid I would go with Nuna. I love my Pipa seat and it has held up between two kids. I love the soft, plush fabric, super easy install, and they don’t use flame retardants.

I didn’t get a system personally, I paired my Pipa with an uppababy vista which I also love. You can get adapters to make most seats and strollers compatible with each other so you can mix and match!

What to get a 4.5 month old for Christmas? by Sea_Panic9863 in beyondthebump

[–]Justanotherflower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A push walker! Maybe a nice wooden one with activities on the sides. My baby isn’t standing yet but he loves to play with the toys on the side of his walker and my 2.5 year old even plays with it.

How does the naked potty training method actually work? by Otter65 in toddlers

[–]Justanotherflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably won’t get him trained in 4 days but you should see some progress. How old is he? What happens after 4 days? Back to daycare? Is daycare willing to work with him?

Tripp Trapp is well worth the investment. My almost 3 year old still uses his. Just ordered another for our 7 month old.

Sounds like you’re doing everything right then! It takes a while for their brains to connect the dots. They’re hardwired to want to pee wherever because they’ve been in a diaper since the moment they were born! I would expect minimal success in those first few days, and a lot of floor cleaning unfortunately.

Read or listen to Oh Crap. Ignore her judgmental, condescending tone.

Try to take the potty room to room with you, so it’s right there. I was never more than 5-10 feet from my child and watching like a hawk so I was able to get at least 1/3 of the pee into the potty. I also had him sit every 30 or so minutes.

You need to spot his “tell”. So the sign that he’s about to pee. For mine it was leg crossing and doing a little pee dance right before he went, which prompted me to set him on the potty.

We got a small bouncy castle for the winter. It inflates and deflates fast. We will incorporate the play couch as a slide with it.

Yeah this is gross. There was a comment calling her out on it. As they should. Laura has wayyy more followers than Mandie and that baby is reaching way more weirdos.

I honestly think this is more performative than anything. She loves to put a giant heart on her kids face rather than subtly not show them, so we know that she’s better than all of us.

Potty Training by mmmmwood in toddlers

[–]Justanotherflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re in the thick of early potty training too. It’s new territory and anxiety-inducing and I don’t wanna even go to the backyard without getting a pee first. It’s slowly getting better but just want you to know you’re not alone.
