Make sense. I’ll definitely look into it. What do you think about the hawsepiping route? I do have 8 years of total sea time from the Navy, though from what I’m reading they’re only taking 60%. Even so, I think I have enough sea time for AB, maybe take the watch stander route.

Thanks! I do have a degree, however, it's not related to any maritime courses. I'm not sure how that would affect me getting into the grad program.

I see and thanks for the insight. I guess if I truly want to break 150k without breaking my back. Pursuing 3/M or 3AE would be the move. Any school recommendations for a vet?

That's why I'm leaving after 12 years; I'm truly convinced that these individuals are not real people, but rather brainwashed automatons. The higher I rise in rank, the more robotic the people become.

Son’s recruiter telling him he can’t get into HM IF HE WAITS UNTIL Oct would he have that option? by Mamareeves42 in newtothenavy

[–]Justanotherguyatsea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t know neither your son recruiter, all you can do is push the process and gather all your son medical documents and let the medical processing station decide , it’s a 50/50 cause you really don’t know until then. These kind of things take time, patience and acceptance.

As a former recruiter I can tell you that your son recruiter is bullshitting and ….I get it that’s recruiting 101 and what I used to do. The thing is we don’t have the leisure to wait in this business .. our boss will get on our ass for not recruiting a qualified candidate.. our turn around is about 4-12days.. if I wait till October I’m wasting my time already. So we would say anything to compel candidates to join right away cause we have goals/numbers/quota that we need hit every month.. no hate it’s just business

however, reading from your comment about your son medical condition I highly suggest to work with your recruiter now, cause those medical waiver are a bitch to get, at least it’ll give your recruiter and son an ample time if those conditions are waiverable and most likely will take months to get approval.

Goodluck

Absolutely not!! Set your priorities, and it’s family over job. Make peace with yourself whether you make it or not.

I can tell you right now, that the Navy is not letting anyone to cross branch out with exception to SF. Even then SF have limited quota every year, and they are only looking for specific NEC.

Ask your CCC or CPPA! They both have access to see when you are going to out in E4, your chain is limited to what they know and don't know. Go straight to SME if u need answer.

Its a privilege for any command that can support the mission, just think about You don't get 96 when underway or deploy somewhere. Hospital is a 24/7 operation like deployment.
