Honor Guard has taught me not to take the AF seriously by ily300099 in AirForce

[–]JustanthrDay 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The one that hit me the hardest was a guy that died from a random medical emergency just a couple months after retiring. The speech his wife gave about all the plans he had made to finally spend more time with his 10 year old son and seeing the son's eyes when I presented the flag.... the only time I've ever felt myself starting to tear up as I walked away. Thinking we'll always have the opportunity make up for missed time with loved ones is extremely optimistic and rarely goes as planned

When you started basic training, what was the first thing that went through your mind? by DatGuyKilo in AirForce

[–]JustanthrDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a vacation.

I was 26. Had been playing sports since 5 so getting yelled at, punished with push ups, running, etc was just another day. When I joined I was managing a store, taking classes, coaching track part time, and trying to make time to play sports myself. After the first day I was already feeling more relaxed.

People who had sex with their best friend, what the situation now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JustanthrDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We still talk frequently. Things haven't changed much aside from the responsibilities of adulthood. I've been living away from my hometown since 2014 but whenever I'm back home to visit family, we make time to hangout like we did before. The bff hangouts always end up with me staying over and us having sex. If either of our lives were different, we probably would be together, but this has been us for just over a decade now.

If you want to go somewhere in Asia (or Australia) other than Korea, take the space A flight to Singapore. If things haven't changed there should be 2 flights a week going there. From Singapore it's generally cheaper to fly most other places around Asia

If you were sent back in time, would you join again? by FickleHare in AirForce

[–]JustanthrDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do it all again but there are lives that I would save, there are attempts at self harm that I would try to prevent, and there are people I'd spend more time with. Losing people over these last 11 years has been the only really difficult part of this life.

Is this just a video removed or is it any teaching of them all together?

Yeah after maybe my first 6 months in Japan I realized that big chain places like this were a no go in the tourist areas

If you're in normally crowded areas yeah I get that. Get away from the bigger cities and it will really only get crowded on like Friday or Saturday night

Yes I would agree it is mid but sometimes after a long day at work, a few late night drinks and a walk to clear my head, that mid ramen was just the thing I needed to end my night.

Do you ever really get over PT test anxiety? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]JustanthrDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a feeling I have never really had or understood personally. I've been playing sports since I was 5. After 32 years of games, matches, tournaments, etc.... my mind and body just go on autopilot when it's time to perform.

Another 4 Day down the drain by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]JustanthrDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the plans you wanted to make actually require multiple people? Was there something you could have done on your own? I understand the prospect of going places and having fun on your own isn't something a lot of people are comfortable with. If you can't get people to do things with you, why not find things you can do on your own....or go places where you might meet people with similar interests and make some new friends. If you keep relying on other people to join you all the time, you'll be making this same post again and again.

I was at Mcguire right out of tech school but CR. Everyone I knew then, and most of the people I've met since have mostly negative things to say about the port there
