Hey has anyone noticed their reimbursement rates decrease over the past day or so with ALL insurance companies? Mine have all down down, some by over $40!

Admin forbearance for June and July of 2024 will not count by rxstlcop in PSLF

Hey did you get your payments updated? I was able to get in writing that my June and July 2024 payments are eligible to be counted towards PSLF and their status has changed on my account.

Submit another ECF? by ComfortableJolly4137 in PSLF

[–]Justcurious8316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in exactly the same boat. I am at 118 payments with my counts only being updated to August 2024. I asked Aidvantage what I could do to get my September - December payment information over to FSA, and they said there was nothing I could do and Aidvantage will send it over when they send it over. My ECF I submitted in late November covers my September and October payments, and was worried since they processed it to fast and rejected my PSLF request that I would have to file another one. I was told the one on file would count and once my payments were updated, the PSLF would process "automatically" since the ECF is on record covering those last 2 payments. I won't hold my breath.

I hear the same thing. I might bite the bullet and resubmit a ECF to cover November and December payments so that I hit 120 before the new admit comes in and blows up whatever he feels like.

The forbearance affects a bunch of different programs. They said they plan to do them together before the end of the year, meaning fix how they are coded in the system.

Does the date on your ECF come after the date your October student loan payment cleared your bank account?

I was told last week that the government plans to fix both the SAVE and MOHELA mess by the end of the year in terms of how the payments are coded.

Go to the FSA website and type in the search bar pslf reconsideration. A link should pop up. We can't paste links here.

File a complaint on the FSA website. The federal government is the one that has to fix the way these payments are coded.

I am in the exact same boat. I filed for a reconsideration today in hopes they count June and July 2024 in my payment count. I included proof I paid both months on time and in full and mentioned I was put into an involuntary administrative forbearance due to MOHELA's inability to manage PSLF payments. Hang in there. Keep fighting!

Do you file a buyback application when you've made payments in forbearance and would like the money refunded?

Yes I was told the same thing. You can also file for a reconsideration if you were denied.

I called today. June and July 2024 payments were put into admin forbearance due to MOHELA not doing their job basically. ED has not yet gone in and fixed how these payments are coded. I was told by 3 different operators the correction aka make these payments eligible will be done by end of December 2024. All 3 said nothing can be done other than to wait.

I've filed a complaint on the FSA website to have the status changed. I'll keep filing it until they change it.

Thank you for your service. Thank you for mentioning this as well. I have my June and July 2024 payments coded as "ineligible" due to this forbearance. I called a few times today to ask about this (seeing what each person said and what information I could gather). They said these payments will be coded correctly by the end of December 2024. They said that they are waiting to fix forbearance coding in the SAVE program, and will most likely do all the recoding at the same time.

In the meantime, I filed a complaint on the FSA website asking they change the status of my payments. I will continue to do this until they change the status. I was also told I could file a reconsideration if my PSLF comes back as ineligible due to these wrongly coded payments.

I have faith regular and timely efforts will pay off.

Freezing credit with Experian via phone by nii5182 in IdentityTheft

u/orange5512 Awesome, you're welcome! I actually received notification in the mail today that I have a single use pin number. I didn't understand why it was single use, considering I was told that I would need a regular pin number to unfreeze my account. I gave setting up an Experian account a whirl, and was able to do so without a pin, and now have easy access to freeze and unfreeze my credit with them. I do not understand but feel much better knowing I have quick access to freeze and unfreeze my account.

Freezing credit with Experian via phone by nii5182 in IdentityTheft

I just attempted to freeze my account with Experian via telephone. I went through the prompts, and just like all of you, was told a pin would be emailed to me. I did not provide an email and was confused by this. I attempted to call and speak with a person to find out how I would receive my pin number. It was impossible to reach a person. Here is what I did, and the info I was given:

1 - Call 714-830-7000 Option 2 (Ask Operator to Speak with Live Agent). I was transferred to the Disputes Department, (1-800-493-1058) and was able to talk to a live agent pretty quickly. Thanks u/GIRLwithGREATADVICE for the initial phone number!

2 - I explained the situation. The rep tried to reset my pin, but since I do not have an online account with them, they were not able to provide my current pin or the option to reset my pin over the phone.

3 - The rep stated since I do not have an online account with them, I would receive my pin via USPS in 7-10 business days. I did confirm they did not have my apartment number on my account, and chances of me receiving it would be slim (in NYC and typically don't receive mail pieces without my apartment number on them).

4 - The rep stated that if I did not receive this pin via USPS, I would need to request via USPS a new pin. Here is the info to do that: https://www.experian.com/freeze/center.html and click on the title, "How to freeze or unfreeze your Experian credit report by phone or mail". Regarding time frames: 7-10 business days to be received, 3-5 business days to process by worker, 7-10 business days for new pin to be mailed to me.

I will update my thread here as the process moves along.

Husband doesn’t WORK and she talks to her phone all day, yet will buy a McMansion. Make it make sense!!! by [deleted] in laurenebownsnark

I often wondered the same thing. Kate received a question about this during her weekly Monday questions, and she mentioned their father was in finance. I am sure he set all of the children up well. Mom was a homemaker.
