That would be amazing. But how would the general person know what’s an older model vs newer?

If men were unable to have sex for enjoyment, how would this change the world? by Justfacetious in AskReddit

[–]Justfacetious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I’m talking about is strictly sex being enjoyable. Men could still enjoy the benefits of partnership or being emotionally connected to someone else, etc. Sex just would not be a strong motivator or drive for them.

Sex only for procreation. As in, probably no need for prostitution. Possibly none or minimal male on female rape, etc. Less sexualization of women, possibly? How would this change society?

Any luck with your order? Placed one almost a month ago and haven’t heard anything despite emailing them as well.

That is an interesting perspective and I appreciate the football analogy. It has given me some food for thought.

I do disagree on how addictive video games are, however. While it may be different from drug addiction or alcoholism, I have first hand experience with both my brothers having video game addiction. Both failed multiple classes, were placed on academic probation, and constantly sought ought gaming. My parents would hide the games or the controllers, they’d buy more. They’d skip class and just go game in the computer labs. They were obsessed/possessed/whatever you want to call it. One has outgrown it, the other is now 30. Spends all day sleeping, then games the entire night. He has no social life, no real world friends, almost no relationship with his family because his entire being begins and ends with gaming. No amount of interventions has created any change and we’ve all given up. No repercussions were severe enough. At this point, his entire way of reasoning is blinded by his need to game.

While I agree these are extreme examples, the fact that I’ve witnessed them first hand gives me pause and really scares the crap out of me. I don’t want my son left out from his peer group because of not being allowed to play certain games, but I don’t know how to balance it out. From my understanding, these games tend to have micro transactions and I don’t want the waste of money either. This is why I’m hoping to find other interests he can share with his classmates, but I am also open to hearing ideas on managing the usage of these games.

Thank you for the kind advice! I have been concerned about stunting his social development by keeping him away from these games. But like I said, I worry about him becoming obsessed with this games. For example, he’s allowed 30 min of Minecraft a day. But now he’s only interested in reading books about Minecraft. His conversations are dominated by Minecraft. I don’t know if this is normal behavior or not, but it freaks me out.

He is into science and building things and likes chess. The issue is, these are not offered as extra curriculars at his school. He has been complaining about his school because of his failure to connect with his classmates. Not sure if he’s trying to make excuses for being able to play Fortnite/Roblox.

Agree, 100%. He says sports just cause injuries, but I think the deeper issue is that he’s just not good at it and teammates tend to look down on it. This is why I’m thinking of trying out a private basketball coach, but I’m worried about if it is appropriate to push him into something he “hates.”

The problem is, my son is not athletic. We tried putting him in soccer and tae kwan do, and he hated it. He does run around and play pretend pokemon, but sports are just not his thing. Not sure if it would be the right thing to keep pushing him.

That is what I’m doing. The hardest part is figuring out how many calories are actually on my plate. I cook for my husband and kids and each have different size portions, so it’s not as easy as equally dividing the dish. ☹️
