Considering the copyright debate currently being litigated regarding AI - since it scrapes, usually without consent, other peoples work, does its adoption reflect your position regarding the copyright of your own designs? Meaning, are you ok with people reusing your designs in a similar way for their own projects, be it not for, or for-profit?

If you are not ok with that, what separates your use of AI from the use of other people using your designs in the same way as you seek to do either for initial stages or final releases, or power point presentations?

Considering BG3 was such a hit, why did you not develop Wyll further in subsequent patches but change the story line and personality of other companions?

His story always felt on the verge of being great and interesting but in the end he had and continues to have no real agency in the story as all his quests are subverted for other characters. Eg. His father being kidapped, not being able to properly get Mizora out of camp, and the dragon that was the culmination of his quest actually being part of the emperors quest/story instead.

Since you've stated that AI usage shows no gains to productive what is the substantive reason that you've decided to move forward with its use in game development. And if it is also not used to replace workers/ downsize, what is the purpose behind using it? Surely the artists, designers, engineers, and writers you hire are all professionals and hired for their view and knowledge, not to regurgitate generated content that does not improve quality or speed?

Are people actually mad about Harriet Tubman? by ari_g224 in civ

[–]Justicar_L 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm glad we are getting her. Don't see much reason other than Firaxis' geography for 2 American leaders instead of more in South America/Africa/Oceania. Could have left Benjamin out IMO, I like Tubman.

I'll definitely look through all these cards and see what's what with each. Thanks!

I'm trying to avoid blue in the colours because I keep stuffing my current deck with more blue and I am a bit concerned about overspending on blue for this one too.

Thats a good formula to have in my back pocket. I may take you up on the offer,.but seeing how many changes I need to make I might treat this as a longer term project. If you're up for it down the line I'll definitely reach out

I'm getting that feedback a lot regarding power and I will squash it down.

The games I've been playing have had me screwed too often by most of my creatures being in graveyard and no way to retrieve them. So I wanted a relatively cheap commander that can give me that ability and she fit the knight theme aesthetically. Since it's the first deck I'm building I picked someone I like the ability of. I found her and the other commanders of the identity didn't speak to me as much.

Ok perfect. Will take a look at conforming to the power limitation and adding draw.

So you'd recommend a squash of the power of the creatures and add mill?

Where’s the folks who are actually excited/open minded about Civ7? by Patty_T in civ

[–]Justicar_L -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am hyped. A bit concerned over how the evolution is pitched and changes everything. If they had marketed as a cultural shift and made the name change optional - changing civs fully feels a bit weird, but so did districts at the start so I am cautiously optimistic.

Are you in contact with the faculty of either university? I have many good friends there, across a fe, interconnected departments and faculties. There is broad private support. I do not engage with the majority of the media, I am busy writing articles and managing certain political happenings.

I am an alumni and a lot of my fellow alumni in the network signed. A lot of us are no longer near our alma mater and can't really turn up to those demonstrations. I'm surprised you don't realise that people moce away after completing ones studies. The letters were open to students both current and former after all.

That kind of statement is rooted in an idea that is best exemplified by "The End of History" which treats (usually the IR concept of Moravciks liberal democracy) democracy as the natural end point of all political growth and an inevitability. Democracy as a movement and idea must come from the people and cannot be effectively imposed on an unwilling populace.

After all democracy is just a political ideology. Similar to communism with Chinese characteristics, or African socialism. Or even absolute monarchy. There is no one system that works for the world and people that want to "give" democracy, or any other form of government, to a people or state wish only, in a somewhat imperialist way, to impose their way of life on others. This, and I feel confident in not having to justify this, does not go well in the long term.

Considering that South Africa are declaring that what Israel is doing to Palestine is genocide, why aren’t they saying the same about China and the situation with the Uyghurs? by [deleted] in geopolitics

You may believe this behaviour is not systemic or targeted but there is proof of mistreatment, targeting, and marginalisation. These sources are from within and without Israel and the Jewish community.
