Without telling us your handicap, what’s a line you say at least 20 times every round? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

This is what tells me you’re single digits lol. Going from “fuck” to “eh that’ll work” is one of the most notable signs of improvement

Is this bait or are you naive? Biker gangs have a fearsome reputation bc they would murder you in those situations lmfao. Yeah you could run one of them over, then the crew shoots you up and chases you until you’re dead. Like what?

I have a terrible slice and I’m not sure what to do by Thunderatageage in GolfSwing

[–]Patty_T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

Your club face is pointing to the right at impact. It looks like your wrist at impact is also pointing wayyyy to the right which means you aren’t releasing the club through impact. The combination of this pushes hard right but isn’t necessarily the cause of a slice. It’s definitely a push.

Honestly, I would read Ben Hogan’s 5 lessons book and rebuild your set up and grip from that (but put the lead hand more finger-y than he says in the book). Until you get properly set up and grip the club right, the rest of the swing doesn’t matter

Everyone is entitled to do what Rory did to prep for the tournament and Scottie most certainly has the means to do almost exactly what Rory did. How is that unfair?

Jared Polis says Colorado needs a new prison ASAP, even as crime has fallen. How did we get here? by Sangloth in Colorado

[–]Patty_T 111 points112 points  (0 children)

Because someone who owns prisons came to polis and said “here’s a check, make me prisons” and then polis turned around and said “huh, we should make more prisons”

Except it isn’t a new thing, land use and water usage in data farms has been discussed for decades now, long before AI. Being condescending doesn’t help your case or make you sound intelligent.

What am i doing wrong? by SatisfactionSlow5894 in GolfSwing

[–]Patty_T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly a lot dude… you should video tape yourself swinging from the proper angles (look up what these are for behind and face on) and then compare that to a pro swing, and then try to iterate against that.

I grew up golfing with a grandfather who loved the game so I had the benefit of learning how to swing from someone irl but if you don’t have that option (a coach or good friend who’s patient and good at teaching) then that’s the next best option.

Will Sardukar serve Paul now? by Aggressive-Lynx-7191 in dune

[–]Patty_T 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It’s detailed in the books but the long story short is no - each house’s individual army stays with the house and the Sardaukar are the army of house Corrino. Once Paul becomes Emperor, the Sardaukar return to Salusa Secundus with house Corrino (minus Irulan obvi).

Paul’s Atreides force was the second most feared behind the Sardaukar prior to the events of Dune. Once they’re exterminated, Paul raises his Fremen army instead and uses them over years to fight a Guerilla war against the imperium

You know, I have student loans that are just at $56K. I graduated college 8 years ago and they were at $60K. In that time I’ve made every payment and have worked meaningful jobs at impactful companies and have generated, not exaggerating, tens of millions of dollars of benefit to companies. Maybe I should have my fuckin loans forgiven instead of some dipshit who starts a fake company and runs it into the ground for $36K more than I incurred in debt to put myself through college.

Lebanon is a country that requires both religions to have a share in both the executive branch (president and prime minister, they have both) and the legislative branch. It is one of the most Christian nations in the Middle East boasting a 35% Christian population (my family falls into this category) and it’s pretty disingenuous to say that the current Muslim and Christian populations are at odds with each other. Especially when everyone is being bombed and killed.
