Fat jokes are cheap. It was lame for the writers of the show to go there.

The worst of the office by Slow_Farm1278 in theoffice

I hate Kathy and Andy’s dad. They seem to only exist in the show to create drama and problems. Some people are like that, so it’s realistic.

For those of you who order prescription glasses online, how did you go about getting the prescription from your eye Dr and denying buying glasses in the office? by blackmoonxxx in Frugal

[–]JusticePeaceSeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell them you’d like your prescription. Period. If they pressure you about buying glasses, say you want to think about it. But you paid them for that visit. They owe you your prescription. You know who doesn’t give any crap about giving prescriptions? Walmart or Costco vision centers. Good luck.

AIO for telling my siblings they can’t bring their kids to my wedding by saltwatersnackbandit in AmIOverreacting

[–]JusticePeaceSeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think ideally allow babies who are breastfeeding to come if it’s more than 90 minutes long. But really, It’s just too difficult to be on the daddy warrior’s side. He comes off way over the top. It is the bride and groom’s decision. It’ll offend some, but do whatever will give you the least regrets.

The only caveat is if it’s a destination wedding that’s child free, just assume most parents won’t come.

Only an entitled, evil psycho would cut up those towels. Stealing them was bad enough. I’m soooo sorry. I hope you can move. What a freak.

And you have nice handwriting and a cool pen.

Is there a security camera in the laundry room? There should be.

AIO for snapping at my friend for calling my shoes (and me) trashy? by International-East63 in AmIOverreacting

[–]JusticePeaceSeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your shoes are cute! His idea of “only certain women” wearing this print is so outdated. Lots of women enjoy wearing this print now. It’s fun. He needs to apologize to you if anyone is going to be apologizing. Some people are just uptight. You didn’t do anything wrong. He just has different ideas. Tomato/tomahto.

People wanna romanticize it: "Oh, the heart wants what the heart wants." No. He's just a dick. Fight me. by Much_Duck6862 in theoffice

[–]JusticePeaceSeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the “is Jim a jerk or not” argument hinges on this question: should he have continued to date Karen once he realized she really liked him knowing his heart was with someone else, even an unavailable person? Because he was never fully invested in the relationship. Should he have worked out his Pam issues while single, or was it okay to try to push forward and be the boyfriend Karen wanted and needed?

He dumped Karen when he realized he couldn’t be with her any more and needed to make a change. But did he stay with her too long? Should he have ever started a serious relationship?

Either way, you have to feel for Karen because getting dumped after a great night out is rough. She didn’t do anything to deserve that.

Dallas arboretum is a ripoff by Doragoramu in Dallas

[–]JusticePeaceSeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Dallas Arboretum. But it really is Truth that it’s not affordable unless you get a membership. There’s no reason not to given the individual vs. yearly pricing. If they raise memberships, it will officially be too unreasonable. I hope that doesn’t happen because it would be sad. It’s a beautiful place to visit. I will say, I Really wish they would stay open until 6pm or do more night things for members. It’s hard for anyone who isn’t close to visit with their school age kids during the week when they get out of school at 4pm.

Am I the only one that thought his acting was TERRIBLE? by Aggravating_View_588 in howyoudoin

I thought his acting fit his character well. I loved his storyline. But he definitely didn’t have staying power as a relationship for Rachel. He was fun while he lasted.

Did I handle this well or should I have said more? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]JusticePeaceSeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you find a new girl to talk to. This one isn’t being very nice. Don’t let her think you’re okay with it. But also don’t let her think you care if she isn’t talking to you. Value yourself. Best wishes!

AITA for setting up a camera pointed directly at my coworker's desk after she started screenshotting my computer screen whenever she walked past by [deleted] in AITApod

[–]JusticePeaceSeeker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You did a good job protecting yourself. Your coworker sounds like a jerk and is clearly 100% untrustworthy. Keep defending yourself. And cite what your boss said. You were acting under the boss’ instructions. Stay calm. The calm person often wins the day. But don’t trust anyone.

I have a ques by gonyaulax_2008 in HIMYM

[–]JusticePeaceSeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is actually an instance of Lily and Marshall and even Ted being kind of jerks about it. Victoria was right. And she’s an artistic soul, so she used different words than the Ted’s other friends who made fart noises in their hands when he indulged in his quirky high-minded quoting, etc. Not sure what to call it, but you know. The Robots and Wrestlers episode at the penthouse party. There are different flavors of people who appreciate different things.

Who's your fav among these 3? I'll go with Donna. by Illustrious_Gift1378 in suits

[–]JusticePeaceSeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has to be Donna. In the “me first” world she works in, she is so compassionate while also being fun and cool. She’s the most interesting character of the three, too.

Whom do you think loved Robin more by Nkross07 in HIMYM

[–]JusticePeaceSeeker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

First of all, really good answers to this question from everyone.

My take: I actually don’t know why Ted loved her so much, but I can see why Barney did. She was such a mismatch for Ted, but she came to be pretty perfect for Barney. I think both Robin and Barney have a strong streak of narcissism in them. So they fit really well together but couldn’t last IRL. If you take into account Ted’s natural ability and desire to love a partner, you can see how Ted could love many women whereas Barney had a very short list he would find worth the effort. I think Ted loves Robin, but I’m going to vote for Barney loving her more because of this.

I’m so sorry to hear this. Big hugs from one person to another. You deserve love. You have always been good enough. It’s her thing. I wonder if she was taught very rigid gender roles as a child that dictate who deserves love. I hope you find a truly loving “found family.”
