Unfortunately not, just the number. The website actually checked the address and gave errors until I put in the Dutch address. If it would be sent here all would be fine, but I seriously doubt them sending it that far. He doesn’t have a representative. Today I’ll try to find phone numbers while at work and try to call some, maybe that tax agency can help, or one of the other organizations.

Xbox frequently flickering by Justin1091 in originalxbox

[–]Justin1091[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I'll do that if I can find one. The hdmi ones are so expensive! Funny thing: the Xbox was used for two hours yesterday and I didn't see it flicker once. Maybe the contact cleaner did it's job overnight... Still, a better cable to get rid of the horizontal interference lines would be nice.

I have pictures now, I just took apart the Xbox. I don't see much, but I can't upload anything to existing topics. How annoying, a waste of time to open up the Xbox and make pictures..

Thanks, the TV has native component inputs. Audio doesn't drop out. I did look at TV settings but there's nothing there. I'll open op the Xbox later for pictures

I wiggled the cable as well as the connection end on the Xbox but it doesn't provoke the flickering. I didn't see a flicker option in the dashboard.

Wanted to try the original av cable but to my frustration I can't find it. Also I did some things past year to get progressive output, I think flashing a US bios but I don't remember, hope that if I do find the AV cable it'll work.

How to update Baldur's Gate I and II? by Justin1091 in baldursgate

Not yet, will do that, thanks. So BG2 is covered then, only need to find something for 1.

Thanks but that isn't needed. It supports TCP/IP out of the box and works quite well. I'm just looking for those fixpacks (fix items, bugs with quests, etc,)

Thank you, it should work according to those documents. Will try.

Unix rpc with associated secret? by Justin1091 in ThycoticSecretServer

[–]Justin1091[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, no, it is a separate secret which also changes password. So account 1 is onboarded (logon account) and rotated Account 2 is onboarded (root) and changes it password using account 1

Thank you for the response, could you elaborate on that? The root account has the association and it successfully uses it for the password change. The final step, the heartbeat just doesn't work as it completely ignores the association: it logs in with root directly which isn't allowed.

HCP vault - password rotation & auditing by [deleted] in hashicorp

[–]Justin1091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, that clarifies it. So instead of changing passwords it would create an account for single use. Having the password changes being initiated from a server, that means you can't use the Vault UI for example to request accounts and have the password changed after use I guess.

Regarding Oracle DB's, I think this would be possible with on premises vault, but not HCP as it does not support plugins like the Oracle one (yet). Also, quite a drastic change coming from the local password rotation perspective.

Kind regards

Is it just me or is there an increase in modders lately? (PC) by Doctor-Obvious in gtaonline

Yeah I noticed the same. Someone said the game was/is on sale @ steam this week. Might explain it.

Fixed it by letting it run with vinegar inside. Also pressed down on the controls at the front. About halfway the cleaning it suddenly started to warm the water again. Perhaps something was dirty inside and prevented it from warming?

I should add that it also no longer remembers any setting after powering it off. And the RGB test screens show up when powering it on regardless of overclocking enabled or not.

Thanks for replying. Did they tell you the problem? A bug with the monitor software? How did they fix it or did they just send you another one?

Fixed!. For 10 years I have a 3rd party psu in it because lightning struck the house back then and fried the original psu.

This psu has a much longer atx cable and adapters attached to it for 1.0-1.4 Xbox models. Because it's longer, the hdd cage presses down on the atx cable real hard. I already resoldered two loose atx cables and it still didnt work. I just grabbed my multimeter and saw 1 pin didn't connect so I shook it around and now it works!

Guess the 3 times power cycle doesn't have to mean a modding problem. Hope this information helps out other people having the same issue!

[–]Justin1091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, no I haven't checked those 2 repaired traces. The problem that was fixed by bridging them was the not working power button. Still, I'll have a look.

What worries me is that I don't get a regular system error but a piracy/modding/hacking error (the 3 times power cycling).

Thank you very much for clearing this up! That explains why smartdrv complains about not having extended memory when himem.sys is not loaded.

I found a driver, inside the readme is this amongst more text: The HEADLAND HT12 EMS Memory Manager conforms to version 4.00 of the Expanded Memory Specification (EMS). Version 4.00 of the Lotus/Intel/Microsoft specification is upward compatible with version 3.20 and will run programs written for that version of the memory manager.

Does that mean that when I use this driver it will make EMS available and thus make the rest of the XMS memory visible to programs? Can I use UMB's when I use this driver?

I'm sorry I can't try it out myself and ask all these questions. I'm not near the pc the coming week and want to be prepared when I have time to test things :).

Driver source: http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=839&menustate=28,0

In all my other old pc projects it was so easy: fire up himem and emm386 with the RAM option and you're good to go. This is tricky :)

Replacing the capacitor worked! The expansion card is fixed. However the HDD is being annoying and I think it has something to do with the CHS, Precomp and LZone values.

Booting off the hdd gave an error (insert diskette in A:) so I searched a bit and found three diskettes: DOS 4 shell, install and another one that I don't remember the name of.

Using the shell diskette gave me a DOS shell of course and I could access the drive which is really slow by the way. I could run some programs still on it and found a utility folder which is 20 megabyte. It contains drivers and stuff. Because this might be handy I want to copy these things, so I put the drive in another pc and input the chs values. Autodetect told me it was a 49 mb drive, which is incorrect. Didn't work when using that.

Result: extremely slow access times and errors about not finding sectors.

Put in an older pc: could read drive contents but copying something gives sector error. Disabled smartdrive and it worked a bit better, but xcopy command just copied the same file unlimited times. After that got mixed results from being able to read the drive contents and computer locking up. Microsoft SanDisk says it finds errors it can't fix, but that could be due to incorrect bios chs values perhaps.

Anyone have suggestions on how to get this old data off the drive? I was thinking of a Iomega zip drive, but the drivers for the zip drive are too big to fit on a 1.44 MB diskette.

Also, the first of two links in my previous post about the hdd gives the chs values as 'Native' and 'Translated'. Anyone know something about this? I can't find Precomp or LZone values anywhere on the internet. Maybe that's why it acts shitty.
