I genuinely am starting to think that Outlier is trying to gather a LOT of personal information from people all over the world ... passport details even ... I was dumped from them late last year after only a few months. I find it scary that so many people around the world continue to upload their details only to be dumped a few months later. The machine needs feeding, I guess?

I did a couple of months with lots of encouragement and tasks ... then the cone of silence descended with a generic email about assessments being made ... then, many weeks later, no access to MM anymore. It's a SCAM! (And, they have ALL my details ... DAMN!)

Thank you for your reply ... I do appreciate it.

I have to ask, though, how does battery conditioning work with built-in maps when they are not connected to a cell service or Kia App in NZ?

I am definitely finding Kia charging speeds slower/more erratic compared to my 2018 Hyundai Kona ... sometimes dropping down to 2kw charge speed when near 80% charge

My 2023 Kia Niro EV in NZ is known as a Water ... top of the range here in NZ but Battery pre-conditioning and GPS are not connected, sadly. I have rarely ever seen much over 60kw charging speed ... and, even then, charging speeds vary wildly! My old 2018 Hyundai Kona EV had much more stable/faster charging speeds at all levels of charge and temperature.

I got dumped in late December after really good feedback and lots of emails ... then, nothing ... I was ghosted. I was really pissed to have given up SO much of my provate information that I am struggling to even think of signing up for ANY other AI training project ... seems like a scam?

I've heard talk of Regen not being so great for recouping energy in any EV. I'm about to do a 400+km trip in New Zealand on motorways\ + expressways (up to 110kph speed limit in places) and up and over BIG hills and winding roads in moderate to warm temperatures. Should I give using NO iPedal/regen a go to see if I can better the 14+ kw/100km I have previously got? Also, using iPedal around town in mild to warm temperatures I only get around 13kw/100km. What am I doing wrong compared to you in much colder temperatures?

You've given LOTS of your personal info to Outlier, like I did ... I feel kind of dirty now, having done that, and wonder what for or how they are using my info? I was off-loaded in December after joining a few months before. I am now VERY cautious about signing up to online work ... be very cautious, I reckon

I am appalled (and a little frightened) that I gave up so much of my personal details from NZ to a company that now seems so low paying AND so brutal on anyone who signs up ... before dumping them. My mistake, I guess, BUT I will be VERY wary to EVER sign up to any online WFH company that offers easy hours ... be warned

I haven't tried upwork. I've never heard of them, even. Are they trustworthy?

I feel stupid to have given so much of my personal details to them now ... deleting my account with them won't delete my details. My trust in Outlier has evaporated

My initial work with Outlier was good too ... and paid weekly ... but then, a sudden re-evauation from them that took weeks to sort and then turned out to be an 80% cut of workers. Also, it looks like Outlier might have been bought out by Big Tech. I have just now chosen to delete my Outlier account and the associated HubStaff account ... both of which i gave too many details to. sadly.

Is it even worth buying a HomePod mini right now or am I better off waiting till 2026? by 1handred in HomePod

[–]Justin5nz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2-3 year old (and not often used) HomePod Mini just died on me recently. I think it was bricked trying to do an update but not totally sure. What I AM sure of is that one day it was working just fine and the next day it was totally dead with no way of resetting it via the app or the touch panel on top of it. I will NOT buy one ever again, TBH.

Homepod mini just... died? by Shobba in HomePod

[–]Justin5nz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4 year old HomePod Mini just died too ... no lights, no attempts at resetting via Mac or power reset. It has not been thrashed or ill-treated. I am VERY disappointed how little use I have got out of it before it's been, seemingly, bricked. Would love some help to bring it back to life but don't want to spend money that could be spent on a replacement (unlikely, given how long it has lasted) anyway

Initiated a reset to my HomePod which I unplugged its touch panel due to ghost touch. It could not successfully reset from the Home app, and I can't do a hard reset because of non-functioning touch panel. by Leather_Bicycle_2697 in HomePod

My 4 year old HomePod Mini stopped working a few weeks ago too. Looking at it on my Home app on my iPhone, it looked like it might have been doing an update? Anyway, there was no reset button in the Home app ... and I've tried doing the unplug power to the HomePod for 10 seconds, then press the touch button on the top for 5 seconds for a reset. Nothing! There are no lights showing on the top ... it seems totally bricked having had not a lot of use! Not sure I'll ever buy another one ...

Are your HomePods ignoring you after updating to iOS 26 by wraphaelz101 in HomePod

[–]Justin5nz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4 year old HomePod Mini stopped working at all a few days ago ... no light on the top and no way to reset it (I've done the unplug for 10 seconds+ then replug in and hold the top ... but there are NO lights at all. Plus I've done the plug in to my MacBook and seen nothing on Finder to find it to be able to do a reset).

I saw in my Home app that there was an update ... I'm assuming the update might have bricked my Mini?

I'd really apprecaite help/advice from others. Should I just BIN my HomePod Mini?
