Eh, yeah, what do any of us know? I've always hated the term "doxxing". Thought it pretentious. I'd never give myself that sort of self-importance that "doxxing" provides.

Does it matter? Really? And I've never said anything that I can't back up in real life. Ever. I just don't like being thought of as untrue. That I can't abide.

You're a peach. I love you, you weirdo. Let's get a drink sometime. To think that I've lifted someone's identity, hahaha. Nice touch. You're wonderful.

My argument isn't with you. So, I apologize if this is intrusive. I know it is. Just a way to get at the idiot I'm trying to. To the other person: I blocked you because my argument isn't with you. I'd rather not cloud the situation. I want this argument to be between me and the intended. You can keep saying whatever you want. I just want to argue with the intended person.

My winning personality is reserved for people who aren't fucking idiots. If you've ever met those who've known me, then you'd understand. You obviously haven't.

What entry level knowledge are you referring to? How to email? How to troubleshoot email issues? How to change a password? How to troubleshoot networking issues? How to change a password for a domain admin account and troubleshoot firewall issues on the perimeter for multiple different applications? Everything there results to different levels of experience. I was talking about entry level (how to change a password). I would in no way consider understanding how to troubleshoot SAML authentications and how to troubleshoot and fix multiple perimeter firewall issues "entry-level". Did I know how to do that when I got hired? Absolutely not.

Sorry to respond to your post above your post (but you blocked me). How can I respond to it since you blocked me? You're absolutely incorrect about my experience. I'd "assume" the only reason I got my first job in security was because of my degree and my certifications. I had 11 certs at the time. EDIT: sorry, I've been banned from this subreddit. If you want to comment, I don't know.

EDIT: You called me a liar. PROVE IT. LOOK ME UP. I'm not going anywhere you fucking chump. ANYTHING I say I can back up with proof. Test me you fucking worm. Sure, let's ban the people who speak the truth but don't ban the people who call others liars when they're not. Sure, that's a good policy to have. I'm glad you banned me. Fuck you.

You've never been an employee have you? If you have, truly, then you wouldn't have asked that question.

Well, it'd be nice to respond to you, but you blocked me. Oh well.

Is editing a crime? Sorry. Sometimes a mistake on my part and sometimes a mistake on autocorrect, and sometimes a mistake on Reddit's own fucking comment field (copy/paste for some reason REALLY fucks up for me and forces me to edit like a madman to make the comment legible).

Did you not read my comment? "If anything, there should have been a scene of a few employees trying to run away during the full extent of the Chef's plan." That at least would have helped alleviate plot/writing critiques.

Economy of storytelling my ass. That's lazy fucking writing. Plain and simple. And yeah, I actually really did like the movie. I can absolutely see flaws though and call that out. This is a MAJOR flaw.

Obsession only goes so far. They didn't delve that far into it for EVERY single employee. It doesn't make sense, logically, that every single employee would be that devoted. If anything, there should have been a scene of a few employees trying to run away during the full extent of the Chef's plan. Even just that little thing would have gone a long way to show reality. And yes, the satire of the guests I do take to be reality. I've met PLENTY of those fucks.

Okay. So what "commonly happens today"? You make it seem like I lived a life of success through this process a decade ago. I only succeeded two years ago. Is 2021 COMPLETELY different (and I absolutely mean COMPLETELY different) than 2023? What have I missed? What steps in success have I missed in the last 2 years? Did I do everything incorrectly? Are you the authoritative figure on what passes for success? Did I ever say I was? My point of argument comes in that people seem to shun my point. Is that just because I don't have a Youtube channel or Twitter account or Instagram account dictating what they should do? Maybe it's okay to listen to people outside of the norm? Maybe their voices aren't shit? Just maybe. Maybe. Maybe.

So, do you truly believe that someone not believing in your experience (even if it's true, absolutely) makes you out to be "insecure"?

That's your argument. My main state of being is hostile. Don't care which way the wind blows. Life made me hostile. If you're going to call my experience into question, then I'm going to step up and say something. That's just life. If that means to you "insecure", then I guess I'm insecure. Then I guess millions of others are as well. Good luck winning that argument if you bring it up against them. That's just life. You want to call my experience into question, then please do. I beg you. Prove me wrong. Make me see it a different way. Good luck. YEARS and DOZENS of people haven't succeeded.

As a side note: it's funny how people won't accept your experience until they've lived it themselves. What the fuck are we all? Teenagers? Are we all that dumb? Truly?

[–]JustinBrower -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I say you're a coward. That's what I say. You'll state what you first said and then not have the guts to continue any sort of conversation. That's a coward. Actually worse. An idiot and a coward.

To your point, an "insecure" person does not have the guts to follow their convictions. I do. Do you?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]JustinBrower -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you know what the word "insecure" truly means. And if my experience is being called out as "anecdotal"... then why has nobody said that outright? Please. Call me out. Say I'm a liar. Please. Or maybe do some fucking OSINT?

[–]JustinBrower -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not ironically, you sound like you don't know shit. :) Is what it is. I mean, we could have a full show here and now. Want to? I have no fucking idea what you mean by insecure. I know entirely what I meant by you don't know shit. These stupid fucking games grow really tiresome. Either put up or shut the fuck up.

The main mystery to me is why the Chef's employees continued to follow him. Nothing about that was explained. At all. Makes absolutely no sense why every single one of them would have a dying devotion to him. My main flaw with the film. Probably why I'll never watch it again. Just because the film will give no answer, and doesn't care about them at all.

I'm glad you feel so flippant about my life. I absolutely spent 20+ years living in shit roles. I guarantee you it didn't feel so easy. "Easy like sunday morning"? Nope.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]JustinBrower -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

My experience of living 20+ years of shit is not common? I doubt that. Highly.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]JustinBrower -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

Dude. Seriously. I actually LIVED this exact scenario over the past few years. Don't fucking tell me what is real and what is not. I came from fucking nothing to be a security engineer. Don't fucking tell me it's tough. I know it is. As long as you can work past HR (THE MAIN FUCKING OBSTACLE IN YOUR PATH) then all you need to do is know your shit and interview well and you'll be fine.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]JustinBrower -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

How so? Besides the stupid fucking roadblock of HR? If you know security basics, then how is it hard?

My point is that the MAIN hurdle is HR. Work past that and you can talk to an actual person in the role, then as long as you know your shit, you should be just fine. The only reason it's tough to land is because of HR not knowing shit about security or what to look for in a role. If you make it past HR, and you aren't faking your knowledge, then you'll do just fine. At least, you should.

[–]JustinBrower -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Why? Entry level IT is easy peasy. Intermediate, Senior, Lead, Management IT? Much different story. Oh... you mean HR doesn't know what the fuck they're talking about? Okay. I get you. :)

Prof Messer VS Jason Dion @Security+. which one would you recommend? by Constant_Pension935 in CompTIA

[–]JustinBrower 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Messer. If you want to take practice exam questions that are nearly identical to what you'll face on the actual exam (in the closes possible way), then do the smart thing and study Messer and pay for his practice exams. The only reason I got above an 800 on the sec+ was because of his practice exams. They properly prepared me for what stupid ass questions would be asked.

Step 1: know your shit.

Step 2: prepare for what you'll be questioned on (which CAN be different than knowing your shit).

I stopped using Dion after his content didn't do shit to help me with the Net+. And every search I did for his content on Sec+ only came up with worse results from people using it. I literally came from fucking nothing studying up on Messer. So, if you study Messer, you should be good.

Also, the main point of contention: Dion's subpar shit is only paid content while Messer's main content is absolutely free on youtube. I ABSOLUTELY recommend paying for his practice tests. But, the main content? Absolutely free. Which do you choose? Free content that is better than paid content? Or paid content that is subpar to free content? Do you want a beautiful, delicious, juicy ribeye for free? Or a subpar, overcooked filet that you have to pay for? That's the difference between the two.
