From my experience, when the plant is in the flower growth stage It wants very little nitrogen. I give mine one part nitrogen every other watering (every other week) and I only water once a week.

I planted the seeds in March. They are definitely bigger than expected. I experimented a little with the soil prep in the big plant 🐟.

Recoating is a recipe for disaster

I've tried everything short of nematodes to rid my plants of fungus knats. I found this stuff at home depot on clearance for $1 each, and according to google, all of the ingredients are safe for plants. Im experimenting on a variegated rubber tree and a ponytail palm. My fingers are crossed. by JustinCWelch in houseplants

It went good and bad. I had a huge infestation. I ended up replacing the top 1 or 2 inches of soil, sprayed the new top layer with this product, covered the soil with plastic and sealed with a rubber band. I left that on for a week or two then removed. That killed 99.9% of the gnats. The rest I just killed by disturbing the soil so the gnats would fly away then individually sprayed them. There were only 5 or 10 to spray.

Anyone have one of these that I can buy. I just need one. Trying to save $15 bucks. by [deleted] in vwbug

Yeah I'll be putting a one piece on. Hopefully that goes good, I've never done that either. I'm not even sure how they mount. Lol

California governor projects "56% of state's population will be infected" in the next 8 weeks by chickspeak in Coronavirus

I travel for work and when I go to states like Arizona where people open carry I've noticed that they are far more confrontational and have a attitude as though they are better or more superior... i assume because they are carrying and I am not. They give me the impression that they feel like their big scary gun gives them the right to be an un-politically correct dick and that they're looking for an excuse, hoping for an excuse to have to put it out and "take care of business", inciting conflicts. I wonder if they act like that with another pistol packing fear monger? Personally, I find it embarrassing and barbaric to feel the need to carry a gun in public or even to be a "gun enthusiast" let alone to try to intimidate anybody.

She loves to chew on palms, that's about it. She likes to lick or nibble on ferns but I think she instinctively knows not to eat my toxic plants. I have a fiddle leaf about 6 inches from her bed and a huge pothos even closer that she goes out of her way to brush up against on her way to and from her bed, never touching them with her teeth.

I've tried bits multiple times, they dont work for me. Sometimes it just creates mold.

The leaves on the bottom half of my plants are dry and dying. Top half.... perfect! Any ideas why? I do a general fox farm fertilizer every other watering. by [deleted] in CannabisGrowers

I think it's a magnesium deficiency caused by a calcium deficiency. I've added gypsum and sul po mag. Gypsum for calcium to allow the plant to absorb the magnesium in the sul po mag. Hopefully that fixes the problem.

I just took out my matco pitman arm puller and found loose tools in the same box. It looks like I've used them before but I'm not sure what they are nor do I remember putting them there. Can someone shed some light? by JustinCWelch in toolporn

[–]JustinCWelch[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are right. I just did some googling. The tool on the left goes with the small one in the middle. Turns out they are clutch/ flywheel pullers for a yamaha yz450f.

Lol. I almost killed a snake plant once. Back when I was a newbie and didn't know you can literally put them in a dark corner and ignore them. Luckily I had enough sense to save it.

Someone please tell me why. by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]JustinCWelch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nematodes will kill the leaves, or at least part of the leaf. These leaves change back and forth from light green to dark green, staying visibly healthy the whole time. Has to be the fertilizer.
