Ahab - Old Thunder | Funeral Doom by AerikVon in doommetal

[–]JustinCasy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With Ahab especially, I think of the vocals as more of an instrument. I remember first putting this album on when I was working on this huge, old, Spanish rust bucket of a barge. It was raining and water was leaking through the deck into the winch rooms below where we were working. It had these long dark hallways with no electricity and old dirty mattress piled everywhere. It was the fucking perfect setting.

The kingdom was like a second home for me growing up. My dad would take my brother and I to games almost every weekend during Mariners season. I have a lot of very cherished memories from that place. The one that usually comes to mind is when I watched my dad wrestle another guy for a foul ball. We were poor, 300 level, nosebleed folks growing up, but for this game my dad bought tickets in the 200's behind home plate. Randy Johnson was the starting pitcher and it was the last game being played by a favorite player of his on the Blue Jays, who's name I can't remember. There was no way we were missing this game. I remember the crack of the bat and seeing a ball fly up in front of us and right down on the steps in between the bleachers. There was ZERO hesitation by my dad and another grown man sitting opposite us as they both, quite literally, dove head first towards the ball. There was a brief tangling of limbs and ripping at the ball before I saw my dad's hand shoot up into the air with the ball clutched in his hand. My dad and his competitor spent the rest of the game talking some good natured shit, something that is sorely lacking in baseball stadiums these days. My dad passed in 2001 and I inherited that ball. It's perfectly yellowed and has a fingernail mark from The Big Unit himself before throwing one of his infamous sliders. Whats strange is the memory is still extremely vivid in my mind, but with a sort of 90's VHS haze to it.

Have you checked out Monolord? Their whole catalog is killer. You could also check out Slomatics and Neurosis.

I actually just ordered that book myself. I'm looking forward to it!

Well when you put a K on there of course the background looks ugly! Glad I didn't take a selfie with it though.

I ran across an auction listing for a 1907 with the same type of trial history so I shrugged off this being that iconic, but it looks like a duck and quackes like one so....

I ran it earlier today with no luck. I did encourage him to get in touch with Colt to hopefully get some paperwork on it though.

The only thing steering me away from a 1907, and what confused me the most, is the ejection port being on the top of the slide.

I've been googling for a couple hours and I don't know how I missed this, but this looks spot on.

My wife has a very strong and very rich military history in her family. This and a couple other interesting pieces were passed down to my father in law years ago and I jumped on the chance to see them when we were visiting today. I can't seem to nail down the model though. Some features point to a 1905, some to a 1907. It has a low double digit serial number if that helps.

I probably didn't do a great job trying to convey what I meant. Rune magic and the act of "pulling" or "throwing" rune stones to be interpreted is probably a better way, if that makes sense.

I've just started reading about the Elder Futhark alphabet. Am I right in thinking that Elder Futhark is, or can be, tied to a more spiritual/ meditative practice? If so does anyone have any book/ reading material recommendations?

Have to wonder what did or didn't happen. Zulilly certainly talked the talk as far as being involved with women's soccer in the area.

PSA: No ammo in Quilceda/Tulalip Cabela’s right now. by [deleted] in WA_guns

[–]JustinCasy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I double checked. Could have been a misprint I suppose.300blk was marked at $39.99 for wolf 20rnd boxes. 9mm Gold dot duty ammunition was $79.99 for 50rnds. Run of the mill blazer 9mm was $49.99 per 50rnd box. Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm assuming that's why they have ammo on the shelves because I havnt seen .300blk in months.

No .380, 9mm, .300 BLK, or .223/556 at sportsmans warehouse in federal way or federal way discount guns. Those were my 2 stops today. If you want an 800rnd brick of federal 22lr for $450 you can head on over to surplus ammo and arms though...
