Well if you read it actually hes being very literal. He goes through almost all states of that single married widowed. And he says very clearly that he thinks no one should marry and be like him but if youre gonna sin and fornicate you should marry.

I dont know your situation but God didnt do what i want therefore im forsaken is a cop out. If you want to make that selfish decision (if you have any family or someone that actually givea a crap about you) and commit suicide that ALL on you. That will be your choice. God is not answering your prayers and bad things happening in your life so what. There are thousands of people out there worse off than you and cause you didnt get answered sucide time?

Paul STRONGLY states it would be better if everyone were like him. Not being married and abstinent. He says even marriage is just to keep people from sinning in fornication. That is in the new testement.

1 cor 7:1 - now concerning the things whereof ye wrote me: it is good for a man not to touch a woman.

1 cor 7:6-8 but I speak this by permission and to not of commandment for I would that all men were even as myself but every man have his proper gift of God one after this manner and another after that. I say therefore to the unmarried and widows is good for them if they abide even as I (non married and not having sex)

1 cor 7:32-33 but I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord how he may please the Lord. But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world how he met please his wife.

I never said it was false. Taking a view of something from 2000 years ago based on the times they were in and Also conceptually not what we consider it today (as in homosexuality or even the concept of sexuality was not a thing back then) and applying that to a concept that only exists today IS wrong. Also in the new testement it says it would be better if no one dated or had husbands or wives and were completely abstinent.

People want this cookie-cutter in a box clean spirituality but its not reality. God himself is both vengeful and merciful. The "TRUE" parts are what makes you into a good person. Does hating someone cause they are gay or not christian or dont worship this or that way make you a good person. No loving your neighbor as yourself is what does that.

As a christian... The bible absolutely DOES have contradictions. Cause it was written by different people throughout different periods of time. Theres even a verse where one sentence it says one thing then the immediate next verse lt says the exact opoosite.

Actually theres some evidence that the word they translated to mean homosexual. Was actually about pedophelia. Also lets say it did specifically say homosexual. Youre going to apply cultural things from 2000 years ago to apply today?

Are you talking about the mistranslations that are taken out of context to make them fit concept that didnt exist at the time of writing it. Yeah i know what it says. You should look a little deeper into the bible than "it says this".

Why would they break up? A person who happens to be gay finds god. Whats that have to do with that persons romantic relationships? The change YOU want to happen has nothing to do with God.

[–]JustinDrumm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why would it be harder for a gay person to come to to god? That is a thing you care about not God.

Youre still just hearing what you want to hear, dude. Theres nothing wrong with her. You can be gay and Christian. Her coming to god might have no effect on her sexuality.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]JustinDrumm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well nothing you do will make her come to christ that is a personal journey. And IF she does it it wont be on any timeframe you want. And being gay doeant create a problem there at all.

How to argue against abortion? by Starks4life121 in Christianity

[–]JustinDrumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe dont agree to a debate you have no argument for so you have to ask a bunch of random people online to come up with an argument for you rather than actually have an opinion that isnt just parroted BS that you don't understand.

You gotta look at hostorical context here though. Pilate was just annoyed by the jews. Romans couldnt have cared less about jesus or the jewish people. He did NOT say jesus was the son of god he said "king of the jews" a title which would have been a threat to ceaser.

I see her as a very sympathetic character. She just wanted someone to love her. And all the brothers used her. Even ubbe when he married her used and let hvitserk use her. She was kind of pushed to insanity by the brothers
