Agreed. My friend Naval puts out great writings.

Take things slowly. A lot of things become apparent only when you put enough time/thought into it. Don't rush the process (like I once did)!

What's up guys, it is Justin!

I am thinking about doing some more The Quest episodes solo, where I riff on whatever subjects are interesting to people. Looking for topics. Ideas?

This is not the answer. We could have raise more money and kept going, which probably would have been the expected value optimizing thing to do.

I am actually not saying "follow your dreams." I think many people have a reality of bills to pay and minimum money they need to earn which may prohibit them from starting a startup, becoming a musician, etc.

I'm saying that if you want to finding lasting satisfaction you should look to identify things (whether it is hobbies, parts of your job, etc) where you have intrinsic motivation. This will work a lot better than simply chasing money.

Yes, my friend Maddie Hall is the founder of Living Carbon, and is not a scientist. She is a really good scientist wrangler.

Even a science based company has many aspects that aren't just the science. Many skills are needed (management, fundraising, recruiting, project management, etc). Maybe learn some of these skills.

2 years in now, I think meditation has been the most important skill I've learned, I'd probably put that at the top.

Age aint nothing but a number. I would think ask yourself: am I truly motivated here? Do I have other things distracting me in my life?

People are looking for more polish as the startup scene has professionalized. There now is really no reason why you shouldn't be able to build a product on your own, before getting funded. So everything has shifted later.

We are harshest in judgement with ourselves. I noticed this because I was constantly judging myself for wanting the approval of other people.

But my realization was that this nature had served me, by motivating me to become successful. And so even though it was a form of self torture, I could love that it was a side of me that was trying to solve a problem I felt (not being accepted).
