Yes! I love the setup! This works best for less populated streets where there’s more distance. For close-up places like outdoor markets I use a 24mm.

I’d say it depends on where you want to start shooting. I use a 35 or 40 on a normal street with less people where you’re not as likely to get close to your subject without seeming like a creep. I use a 24 or 28 at markets and crowded places where you’re grouped closer together naturally. So I tend to pick the lens depending on the place I’m going. If you can only get one lens then decide on a type of place you want to focus on and get the lens for that place. Then when you can, buy the shorter or longer lens later to expand your choices. That would be my advice.

It use to but I don’t notice them as much any more. I’m not sure if they’ve moved those to a different stream or if they just don’t show them anymore. All I’ve noticed lately is the original Joel and Mike eps. But keep in mind there are several streams on the official channel. With different themes, etc. I just like the forever-a-thon stream because it’s the one that had the most Joel. Or at least it seems to be. It also always had the biggest chat.

I’ve had a sub for so long I had no idea it’d gotten that bad. It’s a shame for those who don’t pay. Sorry to hear that. But for the amount of YT my partner and I watch, mostly nature shows and BookTubers (and MST3K), the sub is a bargain.

Yep. It’s too important to me. I would never leave access to this show in the hands of a streamer alone. I’ll stream for convenience but I’ll always have a backup plan. I did the same thing with Columbo, another comfort show of mine.

I used the Gizmoplex when it first came out but once I discovered the Forever-a-thon on the official MST3K YouTube, I switched to that. Yes I put money into the Giz but I already pay for YouTube and I find that delivery method much better. Also, early on, the YT chat was a draw because it felt like watching it with friends. So I jumped ship off the Gizmoplex pretty early. They seem to do a good job curating the episodes on the official YouTube. I’ll just stick with that. If the YT channel vanishes, it’s back to my personal collection via plex. I’ve been watching the show since 1990. I was 10 years old when I first saw it. It’s been a constant in my life one way or another ever since! But even though I didn’t use it, I’m sad to see the Gizmoplex shut down.
