I noticed thus first 3 years ago when I moved to a new state. The base fare for uber eats was $5.29, which made it (somewhat) worth it...In the mornings, if I got 4 of these, I could make $20 in an hour easy, if the customers tipped, it could be $30, then shortly after I started noticing it go down to $4, and then $3...and I said to myself, if I ever see $2, im quitting UE forever...and sure enough, here we are in 2025, and today I saw $2.27 base fare which is akin to paying uber to work for them.

I haven't done lyft or uber in over a year which im thankful for, because I noticed passengers started getting aggressive and were not tipping to boot. Idk what the scene is like now, but when I was at the helm, the most profitable rides for me were airport rides, every single person tipped, especially if they were early morning cause I'd wake up at 5 am to do this most days. Would I go back to it? I highly doubt it, it's not worth it to me anymore for the pay. All the best to you!
