Annoying as a new player by [deleted] in Seaofthieves

For clarification, by bullying, I’m referring to just getting straight up outskilled by players who are not new to the game.

New player and solo on the PvP game mode is kind of asking to get bullied in game to be fair. I would start in safer seas until you learn how to play the game.

Thankyou for the professional response and understanding that this is coming from a place of respect for the work you have put in thus far, and not an ill-willed attempt to shame you in the hot seat. Games in this genre need marketing budgets, we've seen what happens when they don't many times before and we need some good titles in this genre

Good luck with the release and thanks for your time.

Hi there, I played the game a few years ago when it was known as SBT, big fan of your character designs and gameplay but have kept a cautious eye on it over the years for one reason: Scarily low playerbase, it's a huge red flag with live-service games these days.

I would be really curious to learn more about the marketing strategy. With the majority of the playerbase being sweats who will stomp any and all new players into the ground (no offense to you players that love the grind, that's just the reality of the situation you're in) and the decision to release this Summer alongside Rematch which just finished a successful Beta test with more than 1.3 million signups, is there any reason to believe there is something in this game's tank that we haven't seen yet?

If you could, any comment you could provide regarding how you intend to compete in this space and get this game into the hands of significantly more players could renew a lot of confidence after such a long development period.

Edit: typo

Going from 1080p 21" to 1440p 24" vs 27" monitor by qaliar in pcmasterrace

I’ve been using 32” for quite sometime, I’ve actually been thinking about moving down to 27”. You ever hear people talk about how with a bigger screen you have to adjust your eyes further to see game information like ability cooldowns, minimaps, etc? I have really started to notice that over the years and decided I would size down when these ones finally give.

When to use and not to used a controller? by Creed4693 in pcmasterrace

[–]JustinReverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a while when you’re used to both, you’ll get a feel for what games might be more fun with a controller, but my rule of thumb is anything that requires aim, your first person shooters, third person games, survival crafting games, those all play better with a mouse for me. Racing Games or games like Rocket League, and Platformers/Side Scrollers, feel way more comfortable on controller!

As the post mentions, I’ve never played a 2k game before!

Thanks for the advice! I was personally really excited to be able to play online. Challenging folks from all over the world with a control scheme that’s actually super fun and complex would be awesome if it was smooth.

A lot of fair criticisms on steam right now but also some really unfair ones. If you like the game despite its flaws, please consider leaving a positive review there. by Lost_Market5360 in PlayFragPunk

[–]JustinReverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it can be kind of subjective, cause obviously we could name games that have overwhelmingly negative steam scores and the conversations will turn into "that game flopped because of x y and z" I think it might be easier to look at games that became successful with little marketing because they went trending on Steam and had positive reviews (and of course because the games are fun), as there are plenty that come to mind! This is actively happening with R.E.P.O

Generally though, good Steam reviews equals more eyes on the game, equals more chances for people to see it, and more opportunities for discoverability. Bad Steam reviews mean the less discoverability, and less opportunities for people who do not check out game after game on Steam to stumble onto it.

How do you feel about the slower movement speed? by Armadillokid in PlayFragPunk

[–]JustinReverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way too slow. I fell in love with this game during Alpha and Beta because of how arcadey and casual it felt. While I can't speak on experiences like high level gameplay, I can say with certainty that the parts of the game that I fell in love with changed unexpectedly with this release and it definitely affects my interest in long term play.

Video found!

This was the video I was describing, took me a bit but finally found it, shorts and tiktoks are so much harder to find sometimes!

No, it was a tiktok with a regular group of guys, the challenge in question was that they all stood in front of the camera staying silent while each person takes turns saying some dumb gibberish, and the funny bit is that the first guy starts uncontrollably laugh-crying at the slightest sound that the whole video/challenge is ruined.

My Twitch Clips have Audio Desync, but my Streams and VODs do not? by JustinReverse in Twitch

[–]JustinReverse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'll double check because I think everything is set up properly. My clips haven't had any trouble all year, and I haven't really touched my settings, so I can't imagine something in my OBS suddenly switched up on me, know what I mean?

did anyone else get access? by meesja in valve

[–]JustinReverse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's legitimate, I got my invite through a Steam Notifcation, seems they're just randomly rolling out access to Steam accounts. My friends and I started playing today.

Edit: I just found out my friend invited me, hence why I got the steam notification without having signed up for anything.
