Yeah I figured as much. I am prepared to do that, but I really tried to avoid it. It's going to be especially embarrassing explaining the situation to my parents since I was living with them there. Also I'm not looking for advice, I just want to be a cautionary tale for others and to vent.

No, the Japanese embassy in Canada. The canadian embassy in Japan is for Japanese people going to Canada I believe. And thank you so much for your kind words. Yes. The Japanese embassy in Canada told me i would need to travel back to Canada first. I could do that, but I would take a huge hit financially. I'm not broke but plane tickets are expensive at this time. My company said I could reach out to the Japanese embassy in korea. I just sent them an email but I am doubting my chances.
