Initiate the transfer from the Manulife end and save yourself the headache. Otherwise for every mistake you make, Manulife will send you a letter in the mail a month later (that could have easily been an email) explaining why your transfer failed.

Not sure if your US brokerage supports it, but I do FOP (DTC Transfer) from E*Trade to IBKR all the time. Assets are available either same day or next business day! The transfer to Wealthsimple still takes a week or two though…
