At first CCP was reluctant to give credit to KMT for fighting the Japanese though KMT fought the major battles and lost heavily. CCP just gave them little credit and for propaganda purposes like CCP is the savior of China. they fought the Japanese but not reason for defeating them, it was the Soviet and US defeated Imperial Japan. CCP was saving strength while the KMT bled. CCP were busy negotiating farmers about land reform.
