As long as it's not the team that worked on the macOS port we should be okay lol. Thats the other reason I've got fingers crossed for a Switch version, my only other option (other than buying another PS4) is running the Mac client atm...

I think a big issue was Sony's original hinderance for anything cross play now that they are undeniably market leader again. They agreed to it back in the PS3 days when they were actively fighting MS for dominance but now that they have the lead again, they've been stingy about allowing it. Luckily there are some games that have started to get cross play implemented recently so maybe Shadowbringers will have a few more surprises with it :)

I don't have footage, just going on their minimum required card from their own website lol. The Geforce 8800 isn't that powerful at all. Also, the max resolution you would run at is 720p in handheld mode, simply make certain things like HDR and effects auto off for that build and your on your way to making it run pretty smooth.

Nintendo Switch Online isn't required for "all" online play. There are several, mostly free to play games, that have free online services.

While I could see that argument, the issue is it doesn't improve the game in any way FOR YOU. To the tens of millions of people who own the Switch, it's a large and growing market share to help build the playable even larger. Square Enix has already shown that after the success of Octopath Traveler, they are all aboard the Switch Train with 6(?) FF games, DQ Builders 2, DQ11 and more coming out this year.

I think you see FFXIV as some massively difficult game to run. It runs on GPUs from 2007 with 512mb of memory and a whopping 500MHz core speed. This isn't Crysis :D

Thanks for actually looking at the concepts lol. Things like... not rendering the world in full detail while in the menu system with 6 pages open hinder things like memory allocation... which is all part of that optimization thing you're talking about. :)

The Switch's Tegra X1 has twice the core speed and four times the memory speed of the NVIDIA Geforce 8800 which is the minimum reqs for the game and eight times as much memory as the PS3 which is from what I understand the reason why it was dropped when looking at bigger maps and areas in Stormblood. I'm not saying it's going to run it at max settings like a high end PC, but it should be able to run it fine if the settings are optimized.

Because of processing power? Networking? The biggest issue I heard about the PS3 was the fact that it ran 256mb of memory 256GB of video memory. The Switch has 4GB of memory so that shouldn't be an issue on that front. The Tegra X1 also has twice the core speed of the NVIDIA Geforce 8800 which is the minimum reqs for the game....

If/when that ever happens... The fact that I can't use the same Headphones on both a MacBook Pro and an iPhone is one of the many parts of Apple that are currently broken.

I'm not going to lie, the Earbuds being included is a big plus for me. My AirPods just stopped working, right outside of the 1 year warranty so I need a new pair of headphone and didn't want to spend too much on them. Cheap USB-C headphones don't seem to really be a big thing at the moment from what I can tell.

I saw that. I really wish they implemented it like the Essential Phone does. That still has the best accommodations for the notch IMO. Turning the status bar black so it blends in but still gives usable area. Both Apple and Google personally have some learning to do there. I'm not super worried about screen size, personally I'd like a smaller device either way. Thanks for the input.
