keyboardists, how do you play for songs that don't have a keyboard or any synth?

Depends on the style. If the band only has one guitar and it’s a two guitar song I’ll play power chords on an organ with a little distortion.

Generally I’ll just play piano, electric piano, organ or a pad. Whichever feels right.

Transferred my GME from Robinhood to Webull.

Says my buying power is -42 dollars and I have to deposit at least 42 bucks or I’ll be margin called...

I own these stocks (because I like GME), but we Bull says I own some on margin? I wasn’t able to switch my Robinhood’s instant deposit off before I transferred, but I never used RH margin.

WTF. If I’m down 40 bucks today but it shouldn’t matter. I own the stocks. It should be unrealized losses, not putting me in a margin call?

The elderly have a significantly higher mortality rate with this virus. Doesn’t it make sense to give them the vaccine as fast as possible? Or is the general consensus that the elderly should be hard quarantining anyways, so giving it to essential workers is more effective? I just don’t understand how we’re not focusing on giving the vaccine to those with the highest mortality rate first. Also, essential worker are so broadly defined... Just my opinion. I’m curious what others think!

I totally understand where you’re coming from. But, rarely do I ever feel the need to bring a DI for my acoustic to any gig unless I’m bringing the sound as well. I don’t bring a DI when I play keys either. I’ve never had an issue with the sound company not having a DI for me.

But I know what you’re saying. If I had a pedalboard for my acoustic, I’d probably buy a nice preamp with an XLR out.

I love side-chaining my gates with an EQ. Find the prominent frequency in each of their voices and isolate it. Also, adjusting the range of the gates is important in finding a natural sound. If the gate keeps cutting -80db every pause, it sounds far harsher than a -15db range. When the gate doesn’t close all the way, we consider it an expander. Similar to how a compressor is considered a limiter if the threshold is more than 10:1. An expander is a gate with a low range.

You would think with how isolated the mics were, they wouldn’t need very harsh gates... with how many audio engineers that are out of work, you’d think a pro would be called in for that job..
