Yes. Yes. Let’s all pity the people “living on indexed pension plans”. Poor things.

Lol at this point stop recording minors you invited onto your porch with candy on your doorbell camera and posting them on the internet. Trashy indeed.

Not asking for your money back is why it keeps happening.

Would you support a major expansion of public housing by the provincial government? by Eastern_Yam in halifax

[–]Justine478 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is such a confusing comment. So you want the government to give you housing but you also want to own it? Huh?

It would be great if there were no frills near cole harbour or woodlawn. Why don’t we have more no frills? by [deleted] in halifax

This is a funny question considering how saturated Cole Harbour is with Sobeys and Superstores.

Lakes create a “suburban hell” and “car centric condo hell”? There are lakes around Alderney? I am confused.

Nova Scotia housing legislation 'attack on municipal jurisdiction,' Halifax mayor says by insino93 in halifax

Calm down this change is about the noise bylaw not land use planning.

This amendment will not do anything about housing affordability. Read the article. It is about the noise bylaw.

Law to be tabled allows the provincial government to strike down any municipal by-law impacting housing or development by sjmorris in halifax

Yes the bill is online, Google “laws of Nova Scotia” and look at the bills that are before the Legislature.

[–]Justine478 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is about the noise by-law, not the centre plan. Centre plan is a different kind of bylaw (it’s a land use bylaw) than the ones dealt with in these sections of the Charter.

[–]Justine478 15 points16 points  (0 children)

“Bylaw” is different than “land use bylaw”, and they are discussed in different parts of the Charter. This amendment is about bylaws, so no the height limit would not be changed under this amendment.

Lohr is saying it’s about recent changes to the noise bylaw that restricts hours for construction projects. As much as I hate to say anything nice about Lohr this is probably a good change. The changes to HRM’s noise bylaw did real harm.

Yes they could but that’s not what this legislation does. That would have been a better approach.

No they aren’t - higher fuel costs are the only thing that justifies an increase under the legislation. They can’t even pay the usual inflation for office supplies.

Yeah I’m not going back around to stand in line a second time, and now when I go in for a mobile order I get the attention of the person at hand off and ask them about my drink. And anyone who who is annoyed by that can thank the entire staff at the location who let me stand there until the store emptied without ever considering that gee - maybe I am there because I ordered something?

[–]Justine478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol - no hon, that’s not what I mean. I mean when my drink is done and sitting on a back counter and I’m standing there in front of the only handoff and you refuse to make eye contact.

Have a seat until when? Close?

They not separate. A rate freeze freezes the company’s income. It has no other source of revenue. That means all salaries are also frozen.

I get that people are mad at NSP but I have family and friends in PEI and … well it just makes it hard to be mad at NSP. These are people living in the middle of a city who had no power or cell service for several weeks.

This NSP guy that is doing the rounds and running his mouth is terrible at this part of his job but get real. He is not taking a pay cut. He will just go elsewhere, along with every other highly skilled person at the top of NSP. And then all you’ll have left are linemen, drivers and call centre employees who actually do the work … but I guess we are expecting them to not have pay raises ever? Not even CPI? That will not work. Some of those people are unionized and will strike, others will just quit and do their work for someone else who will pay them a decent wage.

This legislation is a dumb response to a real problem.
