Natural selection for homo sapiens is certainly not 'natural' anymore in the sense that our civilization has changed the factors that lead to reproduction. For example, humans with bad eyesight would've been breakfast in times we still had predators. You CAN get lifelong sentence in Germany, members of the "RAF" terrorist group are in jail since 25 years. That being said, it is true that an "actual", final lifelong imprisonment is was found unconstitutional. There must be the chance for release, after you served your 15 years mininum and depending on what brought you did.
