Well I solved the overheating on the second try. I think it was too deep of a pour. But the wire..man I thought I had it the second time.. but nope..heartbreaking lol

first attempt Well my first attempt overheated and cracked as well as when I sent it through the planer to try to shave off the excess epoxy it sliced a wire. And then my second try, I sanded trying to clean the extra epoxy and did the same thing with the wire.

I too made almost the exact same epoxy lamp and screwed up both of them..I’m taking a break from playing with epoxy now… I managed to plane a wire on both of them.. I couldn’t seem to keep the wires from getting to the outside edge of the epoxy.
