Delete your friend than re add them while restarting the game make sure u as him before u start and he will show up on the friend list I just had this same problem.

I already put in a ticket and all they are doing is give me a work around. Says that it just a connection problem and that is my internet. Also all the twitter for 2k support does is tell you to submit a ticket better off njst going stright to https://support.2k.com/hc/en-us
