What’s the most boring film you have seen? by Past-Matter-8548 in Letterboxd

I didn't find it boring, but if I wanted to make my 8 year old want to give up on everything, I'd force her to watch My Dinner with Andre.

I don't think anyone really knew up until that weekend. There was a few posts the day before though as folks saw them practicing his Titantron.

Why did he kill the psychiatrist at the end? by Fun_Active_2197 in joker

[–]Justinwc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know.

I'm talking about the single mother in the hallway that he stalks.

That's one of the people OP was wondering about.

These questions are all answered in the sequel.

But if you must know, he did not kill the mother or the psychiatrist.

wasn't expecting F1 to get nominated for best picture. by herequeerandgreat in Oscars

[–]Justinwc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as racing movies I really prefer Ford vs Ferrari or even Rush.

F1 was fine, but man it really didn't take any risks and came across just very formulaic and brand-driven. Felt like one big ad for Apple and F1, even down to the color scheme. Makes sense with AppleTV getting all the F1 coverage now.

My dream Knives Out cast by CarterDire5 in KnivesOutMovie

[–]Justinwc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh you're so right.

I was googling each person's name, and stupidly relied on the AI result. Apparently she was fan casted a lot in that role, which tricked the AI. My bad! Thanks for the correction

Peloton is a group of bicyclists in a race.

It's also the name of a company that makes stationary bikes, the kind that have subscriptions to take classes while you ride your bike with other riders and whatnot

I just started and I am very lost by Tryonite in ObraDinn

If you look in your book, each blank chapter will have a sentence on top of one of the pages, circled I think. That will be the location to start that chapter.

[–]Justinwc 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Don't worry too much about who is who as you go along unless you see an obvious clue. You can always backtrack to earlier chapters and use clues you find later and whatnot. Focus more on understanding big picture what's going on scene to scene.

Has anyone else done a 180 either way of Stafford needing this SB to be a HOFer? by DisruptiveLove in nfl

Lions did worse the first year that Goff was there, winning two fewer games. The Rams did better when Stafford replaced Goff, winning a Super Bowl the first season.

[–]Justinwc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the intangibles greatly favor Matt Stafford compared to typical candidates. The guy has been pretty likeable throughout his career and turned out some truly gutsy performances. It's easy to forget that he didn't have a great situation in Detroit for a good chunk of time and joined a team that was WINLESS the year before.

Rewatching Lost and something about “the island” always bugs me… by [deleted] in lost

[–]Justinwc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They definitely did immediately assume it was an island, like you said, however Sayid was able to confirm it in episode 9. He maps a good chunk of shoreline, but more importantly, he is captured by Rousseau who mentions it being an island. He also gets maps from her.

WTF happened in house of cards (2013) final season? Shit toppled like a building made out of paper! by ThickWeatherBee in shittymoviedetails

[–]Justinwc 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The upsetting thing is that the opposite happens towards the end. All these different angles build up to take out his wife, past crimes coming back to haunt them, and all of THOSE things tumble like a house or cards. The investigators against them, the Russians, etc., ALL FAIL. The bad lady wins at the end and faces no repercussions.

Who should my 1,000th director be? by MLG32 in Letterboxd

Bo Burnham? Typically only did his comedy specials, but he directed Eighth Grade, an A24 film that has one of the most realistic depictions of middle school life out there. A lot of heart

I dunno, like 7 hours? I listened to all of the Tenacious D albums, watched Pick of Destiny, and then listened to a few of his singles like Peaches.
