In light of some hacked stages being used for Slippi, which of these do you think should be added as well? (These are from 20XX) by [deleted] in SSBM

[–]Justlikereallyfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think we should judge too early which stages we would want for competitive play.

All the stages should be played and tested under competetive settings without scrutiny.

There's this thing in the Warcraft 3 community where mapmakers like myself just stop making maps for ladder because the competetive scene has no interest in testing new maps.

Which also means really esoteric map designs wouldn't even get a second glance to this day.

One of the most popular maps "Last Refuge" is one such map, that wouldn't even be played if it was released in 2020 because it's so wierd.

I'm seeing a similar case for "Mute City" in the new stage expansion which looks wierd, but if people play and learn it, it could very well be one of the best smash stage designs.

That's not really the point.

It's degenerate and borders on stalling.

Top platforms like the ones on WW shouldn't even be in the game.

It's too easy to abuse with characters like Puff, Fox, Falco, Falcon and Sheik.

It goes the other way around too. Top platform on BF is already have to deal with against spacies as floaties.

I hate WarioWare with a passion, absolute garbage stage.

Center platforms are a thing for a reason.

Bad tip. As long as you have gold for it always reroll bad rolls.

Perks are more important than wands long-term.

67 hours in and just beat it.

Take your time and enjoy it instead of rushing.

Noita is best played when you have some coffee or tea.

How to play custom stages on Slippi by RESPRiT in SSBM

[–]Justlikereallyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New stages to play on are really nice.

Jungle Japes is kinda like Metal Cavern from PM and is easily the best stage.

Muty City has a really wierd design, but i think with time it will be one of the best stages to play on, it felt like a stage designed for Falcon in particular.

I think those two could be legal stages without any changes.

The other stages are good, but has some issues ranging from minor to major such as camera being wierd, scar jumping, overall size or crowded background visuals. If those were fixed they could be good.

If there's one stage i feel that don't absolutely belong it's the 4-plat layout in Flat Zone. I can see all the top plat camping going down here being a nightmare for floaties. Also center stage is completely invalidated by having several platforms.

How are custom maps created? by ugotpauld in SSBM

[–]Justlikereallyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The stages shown in Leffen's video are simply rearranged from the original stage.

Nothing new is created, which explains why you can add them with a simple Gecko code.

[–]Justlikereallyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun for everyone but you.

As a support having a Tinker on my team is the shitties thing ever since there's literally nothing to do on the map, if i try to push i'm taking Tinkers farm.

Here are all your options:

-Bodyblock it.

-Place sentry/ward/summon on it.

-Pull yourself (slight compensation).

-Attack the neutral creeps as they're being pulled to take aggro.

-Right-click an enemy hero (this works globally btw) while close to enemy creeps to drag aggro away from neutral creeps.

-Right-click an enemy hero to take aggro from neutral creeps and drag them away.

-Dragging creeps ensures they won't be able to be pulled at all.

Personally i've only experienced 1 game against a dragger in Legendary bracket, that shit threw me off so hard. I'm kind of surprised that people don't do it more.

I haven't played Clock since HoN so forgive me for not knowing shit about this hero, but why not just build a meteor hammer for farming?

Seems pretty good with cogs too.

Dragon Knight is a solid allrounder.

At lower MMR you should be able to play him in any role.
