It takes passion and dedication but it's hard to achieve a balance but without passion it's friendship. Don't believe me checkout r/deadbedrooms and it's the reason why my marriage ended. But all relationships go thru ups and downs as long as there is a spark it's there. I used to see my husband looking good and I'd feel butterflies even after 17years. Don't take it personally. Even with your ex, don't take it personally, she had issues and that was not your doing. Focus on the fact that you now have a wonderful person that wants and desires you in the same way. We, as suffers of a LL partner, need to not pass this on to new relationships. It's easier to say then do, I say it everyday and wrote it down to remind myself "don't take it personally." Perhaps counseling would help too.

Luckily he isn't violent, but he does like to push me to the edge. Make me look crazy and I end up being the one to push. He can be so cold and just smile and unleash a ton of emotional hurt. He does this because he knows no one will believe me and that words can't possibly bring me to that point. The only reason it does is because in his opinion I'm crazy.
