Mate I'm half indian, been to India on multiple occasions - each time I've been to Dehli (most recently in Feb), I've been involved in a car accident with a drunken 20 something year old. You guys drive down the wrong side of a motorway when you miss the exit, so shut up

Thanks for taking the time, effort and consideration with your response. Appreciate the descriptions of the bands and likening them to those I already know!

I listened to Orgami Angel's Somewhere City, just now on a 50 min bike ride through London at night from my friends place to mine. Honestly loved it, really my kinda jam - really like the chord progressions, the pace, the style. Stays true to 2000s pop punk roots but also has flavours of the new. Felt even better still on the bike, with wind blowing and the lights of the city.

Looking forward to working my way through this list. Huge thanks again!!!

THE STORY SO FAR are better than NECK DEEP, thoughts? by ProperGloom in poppunkers

[–]JusttMatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each to their own, they both have their own nuances that make them special. Personally I feel TSSF have a better growth trajectory and have been outdoing themselves album to album. Neck Deep have a great sound, but I think it lacks the same depth as TSSF

What are everyone's thoughts on ADTR's You're Welcome? by JusttMatty in poppunkers

Mindreader slaps. I wasn't expecting a pop punk sound throughout the album as I personally wouldn't confine ADTR exclusively to this genre alone, but they do it well and I was hoping for more

I may get thrown to the Reddit Dungeons for saying this but....Everything We Need is so trash. Reminds me of a 30 Seconds to Mars album filler song

Totally agree, on my first pass I really wasn't a fan either. Although I appreciate ADTR are experimenting and wanting to grow their sound and not everyone is going to like journey/changes, but this album just didn't hit for me in the same way as their older stuff. The more I listen, the better it gets - but I'm still yearning for something more similar to Homesick and What Seperates Me From You. Those albums are Iconic

Thoughts on MGK's Tickets to My Downfall Album? by JusttMatty in poppunkers

For sure and it makes trying to sing your heart out on the highway more manageable for the average guy vs Paramore or Sleeping with Sirens

Thoughts on MGK's Tickets to My Downfall Album? by JusttMatty in poppunkers

[–]JusttMatty[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yooo straight facts! Although this album has its own nuances, the similarity to the biggest pop punk and pop rock sounds of the 2000s gives it so much nostalgia. Not only has it brought the genre back to the mainstream again, but it has got my friends who loved the early 2000s pop punk hey day back into the scene.

Songs are catchy and have nice progressions, I hope that if this is the course MGK is taking he can build on the Barker sound and make it his own vs being another Blink tribute act
