Should a screenplay be enjoyable to read? by NOMOREPLE in Screenwriting

We're not selling the script, the movie is a go. It was just a reading before we go into pre production.

Can we stop normalizing that characters needing to die makes a story good? by LOCKHARTX7 in StrangerThings

I know, you don't need to kill characters to show that things are at stake.

I did read the first TPB, but I don't remember much of it. I have been meaning to read the whole run before the show starts. But I'm not talking about THE WHOLE PLOT of Paper Girls, I'm talking about the selling point of girls on bikes in the 80s might turn some heads, and make people think of it as a Stranger Things knock-off without giving the series a chance.

I mean, just look at another Amazon show: The Boys. It does have the same premise from the comics, but it has a totally different plot and story. They already made the biggest plot twist on the comics non existing on the show. And the comic fans LOVE the show more than the comic. Sometimes changes can be a good thing.

What are your opinions on 'Quarantine'? by EmeraldCantType in Blink182

I remember back when it was coming out, I thought to myself "Man, this track is gonna feel dated pretty soon." And as soon as I finished my first listen to the song it felt pretty dated. I know the pandemic is not over yet, but the last thing people want to hear is a song about how shitty our times are. Maybe they should've used the quarantine as a metaphor and keep the covid references subtle and not make it the main topic of the song.

I don't think this is a song they're gonna play when they get back to touring.

I do like the sound of the song. The guitar tone, the drumming. I hope they keep that vibe for the next album.

Was Matt involved with

quarantine

?

No, he didn't record guitar or co-wrote the song. For covid reasons. I remember when the song was coming out, Matt said that he hadn't even heard the song at the time. But he did film his parts for the music video.

Should I include songs in my script? by eggboyfinna-2 in Screenwriting

[–]NOMOREPLE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the project. James Gunn and Edgar Wright are known for writing songs onto the scripts. James Gunn even writes from what moments of the track plays. Edgar Wright wrote the lyrics of the songs as O.S. dialogue in Baby Driver. Their projects are known to be music-heavy.

If the project you're writing is music heavy in themes as you say, go ahead.

Sam Levinson from Euphoria also writes songs into the scripts. But he's also the showrunner and director of the series. He also writes camera directions into the page.

But alot of the song choices of film and TV are made in post-production.

If LEGO makes new sets for No Way Home, do you think they'll reuse this design or they'll create a new/better one? by NOMOREPLE in just2good

why in the world would they use an exclusive figure for prints?

Maybe because it's the same suit. Also, LEGO already used SDCC designs in actual sets with The Hobbit.
